Since the Release of beta 1.2, we had quite some progress! I'll show some of it in here, but there is more to find on our homepage.

Originally, it was planned to release Dark Marine's latest addition to our line of maps with beta 1.2. However, he closely missed the release date and since then it is lurking in my folders for a release. And since such a thing is coming up, here we go showing it: The new version of deathvalley by Dark Marine!

The new species for our upcoming release is the Cadian Guard. For it, we created three classmodels and several weapons. The basic class of the Cadian Guard is the Trooper, completely done by Jove.

And for their Specialist class, Chromeangel provided the skin for their sniperrifle.

As ususal, we have also been working on the content for the next two beta versions. The Gaussflayer is such a fine piece of content. We will use it as the basic weapon for the species of the Necrons in beta 2.1. Chromeangel strikes again with the skin for this weapon by Jiggaman.

So what will the upcoming version feature codewise? Well, to boost the long term motivation, I've fiddled a bit with the gameplay. Apart from numerous little improvements, you will mainly find, that our classes are now categorized! You will start off with a class of category bronze, and as you shoot your way through the enemies of the opposing team and accomplish mission goals, the heavier classes will be made available to you. All that is based on a pointpool that you increase by kills and decrease by spawns. Whats new here you might ask? Well with beta 1.2, this pool was reset and refilled each round. However, now you keep your pool over the rounds and even over mapchanges! And you will need to, since it is damn hard to reach classes of category gold ;).

well, its more than just deathmatch... it has a couple of features that are pretty common now though. you can capture 'artefacts' and bring them somewhere, you can capture 'areas' (standard CTF) and you can destroy things. each of these things will gain you points and depending on the map can even cause a victory of your side. it has vehicles too... with all these things its much like unreal tournament 2kx. however, the balancing sucks and it has crashbugs.

not a bad idea. afterall, we are almost exclusively using our own content, so it wouldn't be much of a problem.

the current version will not, as it uses the HL1 engine.

I think bahl is coding up a source version or some kind of engine switch thing, but as of right now, no.
