As my profile header kind of states...i play a lot of different games. My favourite gametype is definetly 'first-person-shooters' though. I'm always interested in new concepts, mods and indie games! I have some experience running game projects and mods too. I help out as beta tester for Winwolf3D and was beta tester / staff member for ZDaemon as well.

Do you guys also aim to add 2 or 4 player Coop perhaps?
That would definetly make things more interesting. :)

I can totally understand your decision and even though im not an active follower of most mods (i just watch messages, progress, media releases etc), i do feel that Epidemic is something special.

Only on a few occassions i have seen mods passing by that carry this enormous atmosphere with them (ie. that get you so excited to check it out).
I get this feeling each and every time i look at the screenshots or teaser. Personally i think thats partially because there has not been any NPC in the picture to contrast with as well (which i honestly think look a bit outdated most of the time in a lot of mods....mainly due to them being based off HL2 models).

What im saying is...everything i've seen from this mod so far makes it look very good and very much worth playing just to get a taste of it.
I know from my own experience what taking on a project of this magnitude feels like, but i can only hope that you will sincerely consider taking it on when so much people here share the same opinion about the mod.

Nice work on the mod! I've been playing B3.0 for a while and its great fun.
I wonder about the increased speed when wielding axes though...i didn't really have a hard time chasing people when doing so...

Great work on this mod!
It could very well have been a Chapter from Ep 3. :)
The only reason i voted a 9 instead of a 10 was because it was a single map!

Very nice mod. :)
I like how a lot of work is put into the essence and atmosphere of the game. Some of the mapping is very nice too. (Its cool to see actual warehouse buildings compared to some of the bulking chaos you sometimes see in other mods).

At times i seem to get several audio fragments running at the same time (sometimes its 3 of the same fragments with different volumes and weird delays).
I wonder if this is done on purpose....I understand this mod is about delusional disorders and all that but its a shame that well worked out audio fragments that can be quite mandatory to the setting and storyline are so hard to understand that way.
Was this intentional?
(On a sidenote ive had this happen while playing Dear Esther as well).
Nevertheless very nice work!

Decided to come back here and post a comment after playing...
Very nice mod. Looking at its longevity in gameplay im guessing a lot of time was put into it.
Imho its not a smart decision to take Doom3/UAC textures when its pretty much evident the mod is taking place in the Half-life universe.
Having that said it was pretty much the only bad thing i can say about this mod.
A lot of great scripting going on, cutscenes and a Gordon Freeman player model! :)
Very nice work on those parts.
Personally i always like to see, logic in the mapping architecture wise etc because i feel it adds to the realism of a mod/map.
But others might just call it a certain mapping style to mix up everything there is to take. I can't really say i was bored by the maps so... (except for some terrain or open area's in skyboxes perhaps).
Also, i dont know if some of the soundtracks were created from scratch..if so, very nice job on those too!
Again, great job on the mod! :)

Great mod! I love how closely it tries to approach the original series in terms of looks etc.

I hope this hasn't been asked a million times before... but will there ever be a single player mode featuring the original story line?

I remember a poll a while back that said something like... "have you ever considered buying a game to play a certain mod?"

Well...i haven't been into RTS games for a while but, Yes! This mod definitely makes me want to buy the game just so i can play it. :)
I had such a blast playing RA:Aftermath years ago and this looks very, very nice and original.

Nice going and all....
But what i really hate when playing a mod like this is, recognising every single texture, sprite and sound i come across.
Sure its all used in a different manner, but there are plenty of people like me that have been gaming since the early 90's and just know every shooter inside out.
Bit of a turn down for me personally....

Mod is looking nice though, i'm all for classic FPS.
(Zdaemon ftw!)

Looking pretty good!
Especially the NPC's and their animation looked nice imo.
I could comment on how the ambient fire sounds are very loud but since they are one of the the few sounds in the game yet theres nothing to compare it with. (Next to that its a pre-alpha and easily changed so).
A HUD and explenation on items is the next mandatory thing missing, but since the game is very early in development theres nothing much to blame. :)

Finish every map completely and you'll come across him sooner then you think. :)

Nice work!
This is a quality mod, definetly!
Nice atmosphere due to the lighting and music!
New textures/models etc!
You don't get them much better then this for free!

Might i suggest a little more usability to the floating mace / attack?
Maybe it would be possible to move the mace away/closer when pushing Mouse1 in attack mode?
I like the intuitive gameplay, but the way it is right now all enemies come close up to you. (I'm only at Necropolis II yet, so if there are ranged weapons coming then nvm what im saying :).
Also...could the lock on target become optional perhaps? :)

Keep up the good work! 10/10!

Though even with my slow pace of trying to sneak enemies and enjoying the maps/architecture it barely last me 30 mins. :)
(Not saying thats a suprise since you already gave an estimate on the playtime).
The mod looks really good though, other then the very few odd bugs it plays great too. (Bugs like doors opening slow or combine doors not being solid).

Nice work on the mod guys! I would love to see some single player missions, maybe even copies of the original storyline where dialogue's from the series could even be used. :)
I do think there should be some view bobbing on the weapons though, no bobbing at all makes it look really static and it doesn't look natural imo. :)
If you ever get to making single player missions please make some in-game taunts for Jack O'neill with his sarcastic remarks. :)

On a sidenote:
After using this mod i got a 'steam_filesystem.dll' could not be found error in my Source SDK Base folder everytime i started my PC.
Reinstalling the SDK's and running the Loast Coast Stress Test / Hammer Editor once solved the problem... but mauybe more people have experienced this? :)

This mod is looking better everytime i visit. :)
In the trailer movie i heard the same zombie voices that were in half life 2, i hope those will be different because that really helps setting a better atmosphere. (The same goes for a lot of sounds).
If you can just hear they are from HL2 you are constantly reminded by it.

If you ever feel like a more 'realistic' approach for magic you might want to consider using rings/bracelets/stones with the hands for different effects. It might just look more real rather then a floating magic symbol... of course its just a suggestion.

Keep it up! :)

I beg to differ....

How is a goal such as trying to keep things close to the original a waste of potential?
Its as hard a goal as any other....

I think its a great effort to try and port a classic to a newer platform which introduces a more intense and improved gameplay/game experience.

Im sure it will appeal to many people that loved to play RA in the good old days and they will now be able to enjoy it together in multiplayer mode as well as in 3D! :)

This is great. :)
Clear Sky already is a great game, but i think the excessive radiation in a lot of maps as well as the player starting to bleed after every single hit are the only things downgrading the gameplay after this patch.
(With the dead-on accuracy from NPC's having to use a bandage after every single shot gets a bit tiresome).
Also the players stamina is actually terrible.
You can run for 400 meters while carrying practically nothing and be exhausted already, this could easily be doubled both for realism and practical use, imo.
Good job so far though!
