I disagree.
They're both well-needed, and well-made, games made to fit into the Half-Life story.
It's the law of beta remakes; they will not be released in their completed form, ever.
If the page is to be believed, you are source behind the now defunct Ricochet: Source mod, yes?
If so, as the mod has been dead for some time, may I ask for you to (if you still have it) release the source coding for the mod so that future modders (such as myself possibly, if I figure out what I'm doing) may continue it?
I'm starting to lose patience with the Alien Controller source code. :|
A snappy retort from someone with a SHODAN avatar. Well played.
Those Xen lights were actually referenced a few times in the leaked maps, so it's not out of the question for them to exist here.
There's room enough if this world for great remakes of great games; if 343 can pull it with their Halo fans AT A PRICE, then these developers can surely do it with the Half-Life fans for free.
Competition or no, it's nice to see some progress (fan-made recreations or official interations) of one of my favorite series.
To be fair, it'd be hard to SEE anything if it got much darker. Everything is fairly monotone in terms of color; any lighting is appreciated.
I'm just going to upvote and track the mod for the work already put into it (and I'm a leak enthusiast, it's always nice to see people trying to make something of all that old content).
Or you could just release the media. I know that kind of ruins the suspense of it all, but still.
It's weird how the community can make more Half-Life games than Valve can nowadays. xD
If you want to stop development, that's fine. It's your creation and as such, you have the right to end it.
HAVING SAID THAT, if you *do* stop development, PLEASE for the love of any and ALL gods that may exist, release what you have before you disappear from the face of the world.
The coding and the maps alone could help people in the future who want to finish it.
Look, I've seen many talented people produce amazing things (like this) and then suddenly they disappear, taking with them everything they made.
You have remade something wonderful. You have effectively captured my own 1984-based interpretation of the original story. That's something to be proud of. Make the mod for you, though. Not for some number that's on a website.
Either way, I hope you make the right choice. The only way you could disappoint is if you decide to bury the files somewhere.
I like the similarities to a clean Aperture. Sterile environments are always fun.
Nice to see the statue making an appearance.
I'm amazed that after so many years after the leak, even if the quality of the work varies, there are still people who are working on remaking one of the greatest stories-that-never-got-told.
Be it Missing Information, Dark Interval, Insolence, Half-Life 2: The Origin, or any other mod that's died over the years... We're still working because of a common interest.
And that, I feel, is something truly special.
There are so many different Citadels I don't think you need to worry.
You say "peek at," I see a retextured and added-to version of a leak map.
It's always nice to have helpful feedback. If you'd like to provide some later on, feel free to post it here.
One day, with coding wizards being kind, would it be possible to have an actual NPC?
Yet another leak mod rises from the depths. The plus side? As long as we don't take it too seriously, at least SOMETHING will get released. xD
I'd love to see these reference pictures you've referred to. o_o I love old content.
