The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.
THIS is mapping, pay attention to the skybox; that's what gives so much feeling to a map like this, it gives it a location, a meaning.
Take notes.
Agreed, this is one amazing sky. Looks sick.
Just reminded me about Unreal which had amazing skyboxes at its time.
unless those marines will get vehicle support combat in those open streets vs strider's, gunships, & or waves of grunts ... well its gona be a fringing massacre 0.o
I hope more abandoned civilian cars & or emergency vehicles will be added later on.
The power lines are also well missing the lines :P
But it is a WIP I suppose so ill let it slide and stop sit picking for now xD
that is realistic
no, that is art
If it weren't for the Combine "objects" in the pic... I'd say you could fool anyone saying this is real life!
It looks very nice, the only thing I don't like is the texturing and blockyness of the ruin buildings to the right. And the lack of rubble.
I agree with arma, A little more rubble/ruin would definitely make the scene.
ah these urban pics are just beautiful. kind of makes me ashamed to call myself a mapper
WOW! This looks so real! Good job :)
JESUS Christ, this is in-game??!!
What happened to the subway picture?
This is amazing.
i love the feeling of space
Its amazing what Source can do, isn't it?
The skybox's details is great. But would you mind making it "brighter"?
There's an amount of "grey"/"silver" in the skybox which is giving me a hard time to enjoy this.
Hey Menter, (long time man :P) I really like the direction you guys are taking this project! I agree with everything said, but just to add on a little bit, I think it would be awesome to have a little combine architecture near the field in the street. You know, instead of just having two props ;) Anyways, looks great and I wish you guys the absolute best!
I can't wait to not notice this when I run through the map screaming like a 5-year-old girl because a soldier just shot my joy department off! Looks great!
Most Half-Life mods don't get anything like this. This is one good map created by a pro.
For lack of witty comment, let me just say that, as a game developer, I'm bookmarking the **** out of this.
...
I am speechless.
Disregarding everything else about this map I LOVE that the streets and sidewalks are made at a proper, realistic width.
It's weird how the community can make more Half-Life games than Valve can nowadays. xD
