Depot is a mod inspired by VALVe's book "Raising the Bar" and concept-arts. This is redesigned part of Half-Life 2 levels - coastline and prison, but now it's a bit closer to old atmosphere of a dead, dried by Combine, world.

Player find himself in a wasteland, on a floor of a dried sea,and tried to find a way to island, where was a prison, and now - Combine Depot.

I started this project in late 2007, but all those years I've been busy because of getting education. So, time is come to finish the project!

Approximately in 2005 or 2006 I first time seen "combine depot" concept-art, and this picture amaze me. It looks so mysterious and atmospheric, and I become addicted of this idea.
I started to search maps, mods about this theme, but I didn't find nothing interesting. So, later I made a decision - to create this location.

So, this is it! Download files, install, and play! Don't forget to install HiRes textures pack!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Although I don't like wandering through dark labyrinths and too complicated puzzles, this mod is truly well made except for such and abrupt ending. Just when it became interesting ("what next?").

An okay mod, Explore space is extremely roomy which CAN be good, but without much to see kinda leaves a bitter taste of disinterest in the players view, it'd be a lot more attractive if there were more to see within the areas. Several hints would have also been a good idea but the idea of leaving the player to think for themselves gives a good impression of their problem solving skills but it is good for the most part. Though the title does mystify me.

I really didn't understand the story of the mod, but overall, interesting puzzle with the ship. Not overly simple and difficut enough to challenge. I've seen some bad puzzles in other mods that make no sense what so ever. In the end, not that bad of a mod.

8/10

Excellent mod!
The puzzles as very good. We need more mods like this where we actually have to think.
I hope this gets continued!

I hate rating systems, but I'll take a chance and give it a 7. Anyway onto the review. This is pretty much the best *released* version of the Depot I've seen so far. The puzzles are not complicated when you go back and think about it(some of them were actually quite clever), but a subtle hint here and there would have helped when playing for the first time. The submarine is dark as fuck, but I know why you left it that way(also reminds me of why I stopped working with this shit engine) and I won't…
