RED-RESURRECTION is a mod developed for YR using the Ares enhancement. The mods primary aim is simple - to bring fun back to YR by testing new gameplay ideas such as more diverse armour types and counters, new Ares logics, reorganised tech trees for new strategies, special support powers and a whole lot more. Red-Resurrection is host to solid, fluid, well paced gameplay and new unit ideas that suit the over-the-top, nonsensical universe of Yuri's Revenge.

Patch 2.2.10 released!


Another patch brewed, this time with the major theme being revitalising naval combat. Two new units have been added for that - the Gunboat and Zhaba - and existing units have been reworked, moved around on the tech tree etc. Hopefully it feels more well structured, chunkier and satisfying to play on the seas.

Europe has also received another dose of adjustments, with the addition of the Quantum Lab and Crackdown power, making them a bit more versatile and less rigid in their playstyle. Screenshots of those changes can be seen below.


But there is, of course, a LOT more going on! New maps, a dozen reworked maps, adjusted RA2 campaign missions, a new Secret Lab unit and much, much more.

Big Features

  • Reworked navy, including a new ship for both the Allies and Soviets as well as rebalanced and reworked existing units for more sensible battles on the seas.
  • New content for Europe: the Quantum Lab on T2, which now provides the Quantum Leap ability, and Crackdown, a T3 power that equips GIs with riot gear!
  • New content at the Secret Lab: the Magnetron! On T3, it now slows units to a crawl, and attaches a magnetic effect to them further slowing other nearby enemies. A highly useful support unit.
  • Lots of big reworks to existing maps with a navy focus, helping to further flesh out that area of the game.
  • 7 brand new, high quality maps for multiplayer!
  • Updated campaign missions to support the new navy as well as fix a few issues and adjust unit availability.
  • Lots of balance adjustments to existing units.
  • Countless bug fixes.

The patch can be downloaded and manually installed, if you are unable to use the client updater for whatever reason.

While being faithful to the original RA2 Style, Your mod Brings it to a Whole new level. RR Is the Best and certainly my Favourite at this moment; But It has some "Logical Errors", For example:
1- GIs and Slaves Shouldn't sound like dying when we apply "Crackdown" and "Liberation" On them; They aren't dying!
2- There is A LOT of difference between Toxin & Nuke! They Obviously need different Graphics. Toxic clouds and exploding bodies Are Not Nuclear!
3- Where is China?!
4- RR is TOO Big to Lack a Decent Campaign!

The Easy AI's less aggressive now, but I think the amount of units, especially vehicles, in each attack should be reduced and make them no longer use epic units and/or heroes. Especially the paradrops which is really annoying since sometimes it can be unpredictable on where it'll be dropped, and I'm no good at microing either.

There's still some problems that need to be addressed though, like the UK AI constantly dropping Decoy Army in their own base and the Cloning Vats which awkwardly uses the Grinder's sound when an infantry is sent into it.

Of course only following it from somewhere in 1.5 closed Beta. so far it has great promise. A definitly good possible continuation of what could've happened after the Allied victory of YR, while still keeping to some of the tech of the original and also expanding techs on both sides. It's not really a bad thing to leave the Yuri faction out of a YR mod, especially since you keep some of his tech in the Soviets, where he started. I enjoy streaming this as it's a different approach to modding this…
