Civilization 2 - Heroes of Might and Magic 1 Mod Addon

Intro:
This project is a Heroes of Might & Magic 1 total conversion mod and scenario Addon created by Blake for the great classic game Sid Meier's Civilization II MGE. I’m a huge Heroes of Might Magic 1 fan and so after completing work on the Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Civ2 mod I couldn’t resist making a special classic HoMM1 themed addon for the HoMM2 Civ2 mod too. Almost every part of Civ2 has been changed making this possibly the largest Civ2 MGE total conversion mod ever made! It's 20 years too late but I did it anyway haha!

WARNING! This is NOT a standalone addon pack and will NOT work properly without being installed over the top of the Heroes of Might & Magic 2 mod for Civ2 (or a copy of it) first.

As a kid growing up in the 90s playing endless hours of the Sid Meier’s Civilization and Heroes of Might & Magic series I always wanted some sort of hybrid game that gave me the HoMM experience but in the Civ sandbox world. Amazing games like Master of Magic and the Age of Wonders series sort of granted that wish however it wasn’t until decades later when I was doing Civ2 scenario preservation work and lost scenario searches looking for Heroes of Might & Magic Civ scenarios that I discovered Tom2050's amazing HoMM3 mod for Civ3 that finally fulfilled my dream of a Civ sandbox HoMM game. I was so inspired by the awesomeness of Tom’s work that I wanted to try and make a Heroes of Might & Magic 2 Civilization 2 Mod to compliment it. I soon discovered a fellow named MetroPolis had been working on the same idea and we teamed up! Our HoMM2 mod changed almost every part of the game including the GUI and all the video & dll files making our scenario possibly the largest total conversion mod for Civ2 MGE ever made! I’m also a huge Heroes of Might Magic 1 fan and so after completing work on the HoMM2 Civ2 mod I couldn’t resist making a special classic HoMM1 themed addon for the HoMM2 Civ2 mod too. While many areas of the HoMM2 mod have been replaced some parts are left as is due to the complexity of the work required or the lack of a HoMM1 counterpart (ie less factions and video cutscenes). - Replaced farms plus many terrains & decorations in Terrain 1 & 2 files with HoMM1 ones
- All 4 original faction cities & towns replaced in cities file with HoMM1 ones
- All 4 original faction units replaced in units file with HoMM1 ones
- All 4 original faction city window backgrounds replaced with HoMM1 ones
- All city buildings replaced in icons file with HoMM1 Themed ones
- New HoMM1 Themed GUI and Window backgrounds (with custom font colours)
