Intro:
I worked on and off my Star Wars Civilization 2 MGE scenario from 1999 to 2000. As usual with my mods all graphics have been completely modified. This scenario portrays the 'Battle of Hoth' on a much larger battle scale. The imperial fleet launch an attack from their Moon bases and their orbiting super star destroyer, the Executor. The rebels and their fleet still well entrenched at Hoth must try to repel the invasion.

Back in the later years of my good old Civilization 2 playing days I became obsessed with official and fan made scenarios especially the total conversion ones containing new graphics & sounds from different games and movies etc.
One of my absolute favourites was a Star Wars scenario called 'Battle for Adoij' (by Nathan Dawson) where the Rebels, the Empire, the Dark Sun Mercenaries, and a local mystery race fought for control of a planet called Adoij. I used to love playing as the Empire marching around the planet with Star Destroyers and Imperial Walkers. But I was always annoyed about that fact I was flying giant Star Wars command ships inside the atmosphere of a planet taking cities when they should be in orbit having nothing to do with ground combat other then a bombarding role (although 15yrs later Star Wars Battlefront has made this a common thing lol).
After also playing another excellent scenario in Civilisation 2 - Fantastic Worlds based on 'Master Of Orion' which had you fighting all in space I decided to design a small quick Star Wars space level that allowed the player to experience space and ground combat at its finest. The Battle Of Endor (in Star Wars - Return of the Jedi) came to mind but after playing 'Shadows of the Empire' for Nintendo 64 I became obsessed with the battle for Hoth (in Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back).
To make things interesting I decided to include a few extra things. The Empire has several Moon bases set up to coordinate their attack on Hoth and the rebels have a stronger defence then seen in the movie. But don't get me wrong, as the Rebels it's going to be quite hard to survive the attack and win.
Unfortunately newer and greater things came along and I didn't quite complete making the finishing touches and bug checks and the scenario has sat on my Hard Drive unknown to most for many years now. But now I've decided to release it to the public. I originally planned to design a much better one for Civilization 3 when it came out covering the Battle Of Endor with more worlds, a death star and better AI but somehow I don't think that's going to happen now haha.
Although I'm very busy now days I have made the finishing touches to it (as best as possible) and am finally releasing it now in 2019! Yeah I know you'll probably think it sucks but hey, I was young and it was a doorway to better things such as my The Star Trek Doom TC Project and The Quest for Glory 4 3D Hexen Project mods. :) I've also decided to upload the inspiration level ADOIJ so others can enjoy the experience so go see my download section.
