MC80B - Battleship image - Yuuzhan Vong at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Behold the Yuuzhan Vong Army! This mod adds the Yuuzhan Vong Race as a playable faction and all units of this era. We are a community of modders working for the greater goal, so anyone who wants to help or support us is welcome!
Built during the height of the Rebellion out of drastic need to produce a ship capable of withstanding the awesome might of the Imperial warships, the MC80B was developed as the top ship-of-the-line to aid the suffering Rebel fleets.
The 80B featured a very impressive amount of firepower for as ship of its size:
- 18 mon cal (heavier armored) dual heavy turbo laser turrets
- 3 heavy ion cannon turrets
- 2 mon cal triple heavy turbolaser turrets
- 77 dual medium turbolaser turrets
- 26 rebel AA laser turrets
- tractor beams
- 2 b-wing, 2 x-wing, 2 a-wing, 2 y-wing advanced
In addition, the 80B featured heavily reinforced armor and 3 fast charging shield generators. Although the 80B had relatively slower cruising speed than the MC80 Liberty, it was able to divert power to give it Power to Engines for short periods of time.

Due to the extreme costs of the 80B, only 3 were kept in service at the time of the Vong war, due to the production of the MC90 which became its replacement.

So, legends state that the MC80B Mon Remonda was able to survive against the Executor class SSD Iron Fist. To justify this story, which is a bit far fetched, we gave the 80B heavy armor, and triple fast charging shields, heavy ion cannons and power to engines to escape. This makes the 80B an incredibly strong ship, with the ability to stun heavy warships and escape, but due to its slower cruising speeds, it won't be able to evade overwhelming forces of faster moving ships for long.

It is an incredibly powerful ship, and acts like a minor hero. During the vong war, most fleets were comprised of 5th fleet modernized ships, with few mon cal ships as support vessels. The MC90 was the main battleship used, with the 85 being the heavy artillery vessel.

edit: nope, now i'm officially confused, will this have some ability to make for the fact that the MC90 has many more weapons of all types but ion cannons? or will the MC90 just be more powerful?
Mc90 has weaker shields and armor. The mc90 does have more guns, and is faster, but the 80B is a much more durable ship, with the strongest fastest recharging shields in the game. The 80B will survive where many ofhers simply won't.
80B also has 2 more bomber squadrons
Well, at least against conventional weapons the 80b would survive. The ability of Vong weapondry to bypass shields should make much shorter work of her. I would imagine.
Very nice Mon Cal. So can it take a beating better than an MC90? MC90 looks like it can definitely dish it better.
