Because we LOVE A-Wings too...
each of the listed A-wing squadrons we have shown here are minor heroes and were part of the canon lore of the New Jedi Order series timeline.
The Vong mod will feature many minor heros. The purpose is to help convey the feeling of loss and despair of the war. Many friends and heroes were lost as more than half of the galaxy was devastated by the onslaught of the Vong invasion. To capture this feeling in a game, our minor heroes, once killed, will not be able to respawn. This mechanism is part of our attempt to capture this feeling of sorrow.

I am probably going to fail said challenge horribly as these are all A-Wings and my War doctrine states I must ram said squadrons of A-Wings in droves against my enemies capital ship's bridges as to make them explode and cause untold mayhem in which I can then revel in the destruction and bloodbath I have caused.
