Half-Life 2 mod | Released Jan 15, 2006
The island is a singleplayer, first person shooter mod. There are no puzzles here, just pure, intense action. And who are your enemies? An army made up solely of zombies, particularly fast zombies, and their headcrabs. Where is this taking place? Any random island; the location is irrelevant.
This mod will be best suited to skilled action-oriented gamers. The mod is eight maps in length and includes many of the Source engine's advanced features and effects.
Work on The Island is complete and the mod is currently available for download. I would just like to apologise for the release date being two months later than originally planned.

frustration doenst make a good game kids. this map is pretty well unbalanced and frustrating and without story there is no point in playing this. 1/10 for zombies as they will always be awsome.
i loved this mod but kinda short
Love this map! Try putting this mods maps in smod:outbreak and you,ll have a real zombie island. I know since i tried:)

I have started a new game but nothing seem to happen....i waited 5 mins....10 mins....15mins....still waiting at the cave :[
can anyone tell me whats goin on
On Normal, experienced halflife 2 players will go through it and die maybe 2 to 4 times. I thought it was great. Great concept. Great playability. The action was great and kept me running for my life! one thing i didn't like was the scene when all the poision zombies all of a sudden appear out of no where. I still thought it was worth the 1 hr of play. If it takes longer than one hour, i garrauntee it'll get boring.
Whilst I HATED the mod for playing it, I have to admit it was brilliant.
I absolutely loved it, though I got so frustrated at times, I left my desktop.
It's brilliant practice against fast zombies,and tactical abuse of the environment. I found myself so desperate, I started building small forts centered around me, and just waiting for the fasties to come. Great game, reccomended downloading.
Such a great mod! I'm glad to see that it finally has a ModDb page.
Too many fasties, though (especially the headcrabs!)
Installation problem... how do you fix it?
