Half-Life 2 mod | Released Jan 15, 2006
The island is a singleplayer, first person shooter mod. There are no puzzles here, just pure, intense action. And who are your enemies? An army made up solely of zombies, particularly fast zombies, and their headcrabs. Where is this taking place? Any random island; the location is irrelevant.
This mod will be best suited to skilled action-oriented gamers. The mod is eight maps in length and includes many of the Source engine's advanced features and effects.
Work on The Island is complete and the mod is currently available for download. I would just like to apologise for the release date being two months later than originally planned.

Not bad. Too many pitch-black areas which resulted in wearing down the flashlight and sitting in the dark for a minute to wait for it to recharge. A bit boring if you ask me.
I liked the final battle at the docks though.

Can be played as an "addon" to Hl2, but then again there is minerva :P

gem, shut up. you can't say anything worthwhile. and once again, you can't bloody read: he just SAID it's the ENGLISH VERSION of dead sector: source, which is itself a REMAKE of the HL1 mod dead sector. are you going to complain that it's all spoken in "italy" too? idiot.

anyway...
as far as the island/dead sector goes, i'd like to see a sequel to this, but done more in the HL1 style. in other words, not much action, just exploration. that's what made dead sector so great, even if i couldn't understand a word of czech.

I have just completed it and i must say god it was borring, its like a bad version of doom 3.
My view:
+Maps the design was nice
-Gameplay
-That you have to save all the time becuz of big amounts of mobs coming at you.
-That some of the places you have to just run.
-Mobs their was 4-5 types of mobs but mostly just fast zombies and fast head thingies
