Half-Life: The Core is a classic retelling of the events surrounding the Resonance Cascade disaster from a new perspective. Featuring intense action, complex puzzles and believable narrative through all-new locations in Black Mesa with remarkable visual fidelity, pacing and humour.
"In the event of an emergency, passengers are to remain seated and await further instruction."
Aaand, I continue to be impressed with how often you can utilize various drastically differently colored light sources in the same area and it never look like it's too much.
The ambiance in the room looks really good. I'm actually a fan of dark areas with subtle light.
I have been following your mod for a while and I am a big fan of your work. Keep on going, guys. I'm looking forward to this.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
Wonderful lighting. I really like that red light silhouetting that shape in the bottom corner.
A term "atmosphere" should be illustrated by this screenshot. It's just amazing, guys!
Brilliant work, I need to take a few tips from your lighting techniques :p
Looks suspiciously like a remake of a certain area where a certain train ride happens in a certain game.
Certainly does.
it's too dark
Tell it to maintenance. Oh wait.
Thanks for the feedback. :)
It is a little dark to be sure, but this is at least a day after the disaster takes place. Not to mention that you wouldn't realistically spend much money on lighting the tunnels for the transit system, the same way subway tunnels aren't flooded with light.
yes but even inside that other room the light is too weak
Most of the lights in the hallway are broken / flickering. Again, this is post disaster. It's not really any darker than the Sector C labs in "Unforeseen Consequences"
yes, but there is no even broken light on the tram station. that's odd, the soda machine -- is the only light source.
There are also lights running along the railing facing the windows, you can't see them from this angle. :)
Dat Textures.
I'm just going to take a guess:
"Hello soldier-sir! mmm.. candy. Stupid machine! Why don't these things ever seem to work?"
My god... What have you done here guys? Textures are placed maniacally (in a good way, of course)! And the lighting... oh boy...
I particularly like the projected shadows on the wall near the red light, and the handrail texture details are just great! VHLT FTW! :D
Great job once again mates! ;)
looks just AWESOME !!!11!!11
Great skill taken in the simplest of tools, techniques makes all the difference in the world. Time to awaken the core, guys.
Wow, that lighting is incredible, your mod seems to come straight from the previous generation of consoles, which is great for this very old game engine. :o
