The latest entry in the Illuminate forces, is the "Death Sphere"... and it does exactly what it's name implies! ;)

With some work it could be T3 but it reminds me of a aeon version of the mech marine.
Maybe a belly component for the anti grav,or some legs?

Well,it's good news anyway. We need "more" of the units expanding into the newer design themes.
(Make another Mag Wheel unit,those are new.)
BTW, You might wanna give the weapons a bit of bulk behind them. Or is this another Glass Cannon?

Eh, I don't know about the name... If it's an experimental unit it has to have some silly ring to it like the wilfinja (we'll-find-ya). Like Desphere.

Hell no. That naming style was unusual,but such a poor fakery of the Seraphim naming style was terrible!
I would have given it a fancy name like Doom Rondure,but i felt such a name was best used on a unit with the same spherical shape,but different concept......
But... Death Sphere... When I'm commentating a SupCom 2 game, that's very annoying to keep repeating :\.
We cant use Death Sphere,it's been used by ROL!
But before we do any speculations on it's name we best know what is it capable of and for.
so the Wilfindja sounds better on your commentations?
My guess? We need to name it something somewhat a bit "simpler" since it's a Minor,and thus more mass producable.
We'llfinja rolls better for me, although ALL OF THIS COULD BE MY ACCENT.

True,the name itself does not roll off the tongue so well,since the said original unit it was based on.....and the pronouncation.
@Leosake We need an idea what this thing is meant to do.
(Btw, seen the movie Oblivion? The designs there were quite decent.)
@Rtys8, as much as you want it, this unit was not based on the ROL... I imagined it as a cross between the Death Star and the Zakat... that's about it's origins...
now for it's role, it is a low hp, ultra heavy hitter unit that if everything goes well, it will have two stages...
1) when it is not using it's weapons it will produce a really strong shield
2) when the weapons are activated, all the energy is transferred to the weapons instead, which of course means the weapons will be f-deadly :P

So it's a UAW Field Inverter.
How does the unit range? Will it be at the very front, or at the back of the attacking army? Unless it's a flying unit (In which case, I assume it's a gunship of sorts)
Actually i think we were fretting over the wrong thing. What we see here is just the DESIGNATION,not the actual name.
Its like how the Galactic Colossus is called Sacred Assault Bot.
For Designation name however, here's a unique one,how about Objects?

How can anyone support square enix's naming of aeon's units. The are so unorginal. They are just mispelled couple of words put into 1 word. Its crap!
Pulinsmash = Pull N' Smash....total bullcrap. You have to be completely delusional to enjoy Square Enix's naming of units.
I don't think Squenix named those units, I don't think I was supporting it either. The director of the original Supreme Commander could hardly oversee the production of SupCom 2, let alone evolve his old ideas into a sequel.
As far as we know, anyone from the developer or publisher could have been responsible for the names.

Pity this design had the potential to be a reference to the classic movie The Sphere.
Referencing to it, i would make it have an ability to spawn temporary "illusions/ghosts" that can do damage.
I googled it (as I'm not a Halo fan) and to be honest it looks FANTASTIC! :D
It makes me wonder what if the energy emitted could have different colors according to the veternacy :D
If the name will stay, in some form, as a sphere, then probably it is either a hover or an air unit. The current name also implies that it can attack all (or at least land and air - though 'all' should include underwater too 'at least', as I suppose many would say one ball against all: land/surface, air, underwater, satellite_area .. would be op.).
I love to see those comments, with implications and overestimation's..."if something is named this, then it SHOULD be like this...." dude let me tell you that, if me as artist wanted to name my unit "flying pancake" despite the fact that it is NOT a flying pancake, there is no darn RULE that can say to me that THIS unit, HAS to throw pancakes.... now PLEASE, stop sticking to unimportant things, and let's discuss about more important stuff about the design, and NOT the name....
As for the first part of the comment, YES it is hovering, YES it is flying, as I've already stated 6 comments above...

Okay... then, I think you should remove the parts holding the panels when open; that way it will look more alienish -as the Aeon Illuminate got most of their design and stuff from the Seraphim.

Umm okay..... back on topic a bit....
Personally, i feel the packing/unpacking mechanism should be changed for to a more aesthetic style....
The current one feels too inelegant,looking like it can take a while to unpack/pack.I'll provide some examples.....
Like Overated said, it looks too much like a robot,than some mysterious divine construct.

K,i gathered the concepts i had for this unit design specifically.....but before i suggest to you....i need to know.(Dont worry,no ROL ripoffs)
A. What is are the weapons specifically?What does it fire?
B.This isnt a vehicle,bot,aircraft or structure,right,Is it the new design/family of constructs?
(Constructs as in something that isnt mannable or can be piloted,controlled like bots,but dont remotely anywhere have the shape of one)
