Research and Development is a puzzle-centric mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two featuring an unarmed player but plenty of violent mayhem.

Description
Updated 17 July 2009, fixed several issues & added a dynamic crosshair when using the keypads & lab buttons. Requires Episode Two.
This is the installer version. Hopefully it should fix an issue with the mod not showing up on steam games list at all.

This mod was created by mbortolino, send your PM's to him about the mod.
I(DuckSauce) simply created this installer due to issues people had with the regular zip files.
Editted in now because Mod of the Year kicked in, who knows what people will flood here and get confused :P

Whats a .zip file?
You open it with winrar or winzip and extract the files.

And zip isnt good... 7z ftw!! it makes really a big difference: 50mb in 10mb for instance

you don't have to, you can open with default windows, it's just easier with winzip :P (and you have to save it with windows)

Well I love winrar :) it should be included with windows it is more popular than a .zip file
.rar extension has become popular thanks to warez. Since it allows archives to be split into pieces. Rapidshare uploadlimit fail! lol!
It is also simple when burning a large archive to a DVD, simply split the archive into 4.7gb parts ;)

It turned out I shouldn't have put it in C:, but in Users.
Uhm, it doesn't go in either of those places. The mod folder should be at:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\
Well, that didn't work for me, I must be special :P.
If that didn't work for you, putting it in Users will work less.
The download at filefront isn't working for me..keeps saying page was reset or something..sucks the big one.
I finally got it to download, but nonetheless it was pretty frustrating. Hopefully Moddb can host the installer in the future.

wouldn't know, but it's the same updated version released yesterday, if you didn't download that one you may give this one a shot, I don't think it does fix anything related to Mr. Whirly though.

nope, I created it for the people that were having issues having it showing up on steam(it seems there are at least 2 possible sourcemods folders, the installer should automatically pick the right one for those people)

DuckSauce - I registered just so I could post here and thank you for this great mod. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did find one place where I unintentionally bypassed one of your puzzles. Would you like me to post the information here, or how can I get in touch with you? I don't think this forum has a PM feature.
This forum does have a PM feature- view the member's profile and there is a send PM button there. And he only made the installer, he has nothing to do with the mod.
They changed it for a .exe file.
