An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

As most of you have probably noticed, we are really bad at internal testing, in great part because R3ven and I are both very busy and careful testing takes way longer than either of us have to spare and still have time to work on the project + the other crap we do. It's a task as big as making all this stuff in the first place. As the US Marines used to say before they realized it sounded a bit wierd, we're looking for a few good men (women may also apply) to be an internal testing team. The key is that the testing has to be both complete and independant from the bulk of the team; R3ven and I can't be micromanaging it. Testers will get frequent internal builds and it will be their job to do intensive testing. Yeah, it kinda means you get to play new Paradox builds before anyone; it also means you're going to get raw builds that make the betas look polished, and you have to do careful, frequent testing on everything that goes wrong. This is not for people who just want to play early; this is for dedicated folk. If you wanna sign up, do so here. We'll PM you if you're in, and you'll get access to the tester forums. If we don't PM you, you didn't get the job. Please, if you do get on the internal team, don't go telling everyone; it'll be a lot easier for our security and for your sanity if you keep it to yourself (you'll get credit when it's not an issue anymore) |

I wouldn't mind doing it but define internal builds or raw builds, is it testing a certain build order or how its stats go against other units? |

Its just testing to see if it works or not, and to see if stuff is broken. I don't think I'm up to it, but I'm sure you'll find people who are. -- Yours faithfully, That guy who does hammy stuff on a regular basis. |

I'm volunteering. Thinkning about psychotic Loners blog, but if there's something I can help with to speed up the modding proccess I'll gladly do it. |

Okay, here's the thing. I'm more or less interested in this. I'd like to make an effort for the team, and I want to see a good game and a release as fast as possible. I've worked as an intern at a games company before, so I have two weeks of bug-confirming experience from that. I didn't do much but it's something to put on my CV. Problem is, obviously, time. I'm in school, and I'm concerned about my grades. I don't think that having to spend two hours a day will benefit my grades or my social life. Still, it would be cool... and everyone has school to be concerned about. So here's what I say: I won't be the most dedicated guy ever, but I hope to be able to contribute when I can without ruining my life. On those premises, I hope I can be of assistance. So yeah, I apply. Edited by: Tayya |

I can probably help on and off after mid-2011, but will almost certainly not be able to help in the first couple of months of 2011. Not incredibly helpful, I know, but if you need some extra manpower I might be able to help. |

I'd like to volunteer. R3ven already has me making that list. -- Quick its 2am! Do you know where your base is? |

Sure. Anything to help the paradox team, though sometimes my own schedule and school work migh get in the way. That and the fact that I have an unrelyable internet conection. Edited by: MetalKing1417 |

I would like to volunteer for this (just like everyone) But i will say protroid would be a good option for this. --

I'd love to volunteer as well, but as Tayya and many others said, schoolwork is a priority. However, I do have a Christmas break coming up in which I will be doing nothing for 2 whole weeks. So count me in for now. -- ------------------------------------- |

I think everyone has to care for school to be honest, so they can't really expect more than what we can give. Unless they find some unemployed people who don't want to search for a job... and that shouldn't really be promoted. |

Yes. School for me is priority. But I usually have time to play test daily. -- Quick its 2am! Do you know where your base is? |

I believe school is a priority for EVERYONE, guys, from Sketch downwards, so I think it's not an issue. And if not, it's a job you have priority for, though I think I might be the only one that old. Oh, I won't be volunteering, I'm not observant and detailed enough to do so. -- |

I've been unusually busy lately, but the construction at my house has finished, we're almost done moving the new tenants in, and I just got out of a committed relationship, so I've got some free time again. If the trend continues and I've got the time for it, I would be delighted to be able to help Paradox in any way shape or form. So... yeah. I'll see what my life is looking like in a week and either volunteer or not then. |

Actually, we have a team of several people already compiled You wont learn they're names for their privacy, and so they are not badgered into letting others play secret stuff. -- Quick its 2am! Do you know where your base is? |

Ah,doesn't really matter if you already have a team. --

Being in the internal test team seems like a bit of work to me- I would rather wait to see things semi-polished instead of do repetitive tests on everything. |
||
|
Jan 23 2011 Anchor | |
The Testing Team is mainly for in-dev balance. I can usually check myself if something works or not. |
||
Jan 23 2011 Anchor | ||
Isn't that also what the Beta is? I guess the testing team is more looking for obvious problems. |
||
|
Jan 23 2011 Anchor | |
The beta is for the general public though. We can put out many more indev builds for easier balance testing. At some point(aka once they have their first build, I haven't been able to make much lately due to my schooling atm) they will get a build with updated balance and any other new stuff to test maybe once a week to every other week. All in all, the Betas are going to be more polished than the indev ones, and way more balanced than the betas have been progressing. Edited by: R3ven |
