An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

Hi, guys!

I've been reading over the wiki, looking at what's possible/what's not in the coding. For instance, no Tiberium Twilight-style production. That's not my style anyway. No mobile production units. This isn't Supreme Commander.

I WAS wondering, however, if there is a way to make a mine/oil derrick work in reverse?
As in, the little harvester unit would go back and forth, adding to the mine while subtracting from your own stores, with the cap at, what, 30K?

Also, is there any way to create a building that would act AS a mine? As in, it would be placed, and ID'd as a mine, with full mine capabilities?

I know, I know. The first one sounds assbackwards, and the second sounds like trying to cheat the system. Trust me, I've got something balanced in mind... An entire faction idea that I won't bother you guys with until 1) I have all the kinks worked out and 2) you guys are MUCH further along with your OWN vision.

I'm just getting the possibilities out of the way in case I need to retool my build technique.

OH! also, is there a way to make a unit cannibalize another unit, like the Avatar in Tiberium Wars? I'd think it would just be an extrapolation of garrisoning or ID-changing... If X uses ability Y on unit Z, its model and properties get replaced with unit A. If unit X uses ability Y on unit B, its model and properties get replaced with unit C.

Looking through the suggestions, I saw that you didn't want any infantry that can build turrets. Is this because of your own balance decisions or gameplay limitations? Uprising had the Sickle whose special ability made it become a turret. Was that based on a new/updated engine not available in Red Alert 3?

And finally, is it possible to model your own projectiles? What are the restrictions on that?

Yes, it's long, but I've got a lot of ideas swirling around.

Thanks.

I'm not a coder or a member of the team, but if you want you can put your faction on the Paradox/ RA3 fanfaction wiki. I find it to be a good place to display and build upon faction ideas.

Because the mod leaders are a bunch of hipsters who refuse to use uprising units as it's too mainstream in the moddb modding community. Anyways, follow his link to propose your faction idea and follow this and create an account(or ask an admin to do it) to incite discussion on your user page because the Paradox moddb page is always dead and you're less likely to get people to view your posts (until a new update pops up).

If you do join the community good luck, have fun and welcome!

I prefer the term "neo-beatnik", thanks.
