Operation: Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force. Using the Source engine, the developers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although it's not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.

i think the normal map on the headcrab/bubbles/ribs is slightly too strong and too grainy. it makes the headcrab look is if it was rusty ;)

I kinda like the bubbles and the rusty look myself- some kind of visual cue that this crab has started to seriously fuse with its host body!
I think what it really needs IMO is for its ribcage to be teeth ;)

impressive maybe a bit thin... maybe rescale him by 5% or so so he is like in the original more fat.

I can't wait to encounter him ingame.

Wow quite nice! I like the acid pockets. (in the original the gonome chucked acid and resorted to claws when you got close.)

upward-rain Jul 21 2011, 4:57pm says:

On the original the beast had it ribcage open and the ribcage would also move like a mouth, that is also where the thing got it's acid from, it would also pull up flesh and meat from it's victim into it's chest cavity like he digested it there or to store it for later. good work, don't like the green bubble on headcrab.
