I like present our modyfication to the game Earth2160 created by polish studio Reality Pump.
The NEP(New Earth Project- working title of the mod), is focused in bringing old units , atmosfere and that specific feel of older games created in Earth universe(like Earth 2140 , 2150 , the moon project , etc). But not only that. It is also some kind of experiment with is focused in showing what can be done in RTS games.

Mod features:
- New/old units from others game series, like Tiger for UCS , LBT(Pamir) for ED or cruscher for LC
- Improved Fx
- New maps created especially for this MOD(Also graphically improved)
- Completely new gameplay.
- New much clearer research system (Now you know waht you are researching.)
- Diffrent build system for specific races.
- Completely new reworked aliens, with much better morphing system(Morphoid player now “tech” like other nations...)
- Old/New wepons technologies , with behave like as the ones from older games from this series .
- Completely reworked armor/shield system for units. Armor protect against conventional wepons like: rockets , ppanc cannos , mchine guns ,etc. and the shield protect from energetic wepons like plasma, laser, electric cannos, etc.
- Added flares(with is anti for guided rockets) , and SDI system(witch is now anti ballistic wepon) for all old races(aliens have diffrent technology than humans)
- End many other bigger or smaller changes.Mod staff

- Ltemplar – 3d modeling , fx , parameters , balansing , animation ..etc , entire mod concept 
- Templar- 3d modeling, texture artist , fx , game concepts.. maps ,etc , 
- Raptorad – Maps 
- Pawlonator – Maps , camping 
- Chenoch – scripts

The people who no longer working on this project, but bringed some interesting content to it.

  -Hammer , Viny and others(that I don’t remeber)- beta Testers

NEWS:

-Added new scale for fighters and bombers
-Huge optymalization for most FX
-Added new fx and working mechanics for light laser(AA),
-Created (I hope so) the end list for all playable in-game units
-And many others smaller or biger updates.

Still to do(things tahat must be finisched beafore realise of NEP-Act1)

-Polishing script(Raptorad work to do)
-Adding new wepons models(only a few)
-Adding new Models for in game agents(HEROES)
-FX Optymalization
-Adding some new wepons(parameters/balansing isue) for bombers
-Adding working campings, and regarding to them materials(special units, maps, scripts etc)
-We are now entering the final phaze of realising the act 1 of the mod
-Before the end of this week i will post the final list of the playable units
-Beafor the realise we will(Me(ltemplar), Templar(aka joker98) or Raptorad) post images , movies , etc.(for example fleet actions)

this isnt compleatly related to the mod. and the cause isnt the mod at all lol. but i got a computer its about a year or 2 old now but when i look at the game requirments they arnt very high but even with the settings turn down low i get lag when moving. ly the screen sorta skidds around instead of moving fluidly. any idea y?

There are a few things that can produce such a laging.

-The LOD(less the beter)-NEP models actualy have't any LOD at all.

-The particle effects(in schort FX)-that's a major problem in E 2160 engine and my nemezis at some point(to much end the game become ewentually unstable). Orginal Earth 2160 for one explosion have 300-1500 prt.(for bullets ) nep have max 30-60 prt. for example.

-The Models it self- RP created models from many parts(best seen im Maya-for example the electric plant have something about 30 parts - 30 diffrent models), and poor optymalization(many unwanted poligons). Nep models are free of that's errors. The bigest models are created from the most 5 parts(main mesch)and added cannons(we dont have special models for engines , armors ,etc. like orginal 2160).

The last thing is the Video card. It is know isue that E 2160 work good on Radeons , and worser on NVIDIA cards(But you must have NVIDIA card if you want to mod E 2160 -strange. If you don't you will never be able to see schaders in Maya).

Earth 2160 not uses LOD to all of 3D models (a part of all models uses it) so it works slowly if you play with camera at high altitude. It is fixed in NEP.

Now we don't need testers. Nep will be released for testers (and all other people) when scripts will be done and mod will be stable at 100%.
