I like present our modyfication to the game Earth2160 created by polish studio Reality Pump. The NEP(New Earth Project- working title of the mod), is focused in bringing old units , atmosfere and that specific feel of older games created in Earth universe(like Earth 2140 , 2150 , the moon project , etc). But not only that. It is also some kind of experiment with is focused in showing what can be done in RTS games. Mod features: - New/old units from others game series, like Tiger for UCS , LBT(Pamir) for ED or cruscher for LC - Improved Fx - New maps created especially for this MOD(Also graphically improved) - Completely new gameplay. - New much clearer research system (Now you know waht you are researching.) - Diffrent build system for specific races. - Completely new reworked aliens, with much better morphing system(Morphoid player now “tech” like other nations...) - Old/New wepons technologies , with behave like as the ones from older games from this series . - Completely reworked a

What will be new in the patch/new version:

-new ED models+textures for all grav-lots,
-new textures for ED ground units (tanks , artillery , etc),
-new textures for fobos(LC) and shadow(ED),
-redone all ED and LC building weapons.
-lots of new explosion , weapon projectiles , etc.
SOUNDS: -New walk/move sounds for all units (well known from 2140 , 2150),
-New sound for all weapons shoots (mostly like in 2150+few extra).
-New menu done by Raptorad
-New AI (much , much, harder than before).
-AI now use many tactics, so be prepared for anything commander.
-New transporter ability to produce infantry squads inside
-AI now can use them too which deadly performance.
-And many more.
-lots of changes here, the full change log will be posted later.

LC only(the ED/UCS will be added as separate missions packs) , but redone in many parts

But the most important change is:FULL STABILITY!!!!

Does weapon's upgrades increase ammo capacity only? Sounds not useful, compared with ammo upgrades, which gives you solid damage boost.

I just downloaded this mod. I had never played 2150 before. So everything was new to me. I had no unit descriptions. Some units dont even have a proper name, e.g termite_translateE. There is no tooltip. So I don't even know what is even different from one upgraded unit from the next. I have no clue what is going on. I spent 15 minutes looking around to find the building to drop off the resources for the UCS. Aside from the obvious names of certain buildings like Nuclear Powerplant and Mech Factory and Research Facility. Its kinda hard to play without out tool tips or more info that appears the longer you have more mouse on an icon or research tech.

1)about resources gathering:

You have 2 types of resources
1 - Metal (the yellow flashing dots on the ground) used in units construction, buildings etc.
2 - Neutrinium (the purple flashing dots on the ground near the starting position ) - used for research and space construction.

Build one refinery then ad resource pod(UCS_RESOURCE_POD) to it.The termit(UCS_TERMIT) will be added automatically to it.

At the beginning you get 2 mobile refineries. They can be build in the ED_MOLOH (it's this nation the unit factory)
Build the lc mine near the resources(see the circle) otherwise it will not start gathering them.

All engineers (MORPHOID_ENGINER) gather resources, then they can clone and morf to other units(T1- into infantry and base tanks)T2 to more advanced and so one.

That's the base.
You will also notice that both ED and UCS have another version of their resource unit. If you click and built it, the script will create a squad of these units, and will replace any losses in it automatically(the same goes for infantry squads).

That sum this up.

2)What regard research

Yes there is no description yet.
But all
- land techs unlock another tier of units
- Air another tier of air units(on the big starship ending)
Defensive - all defensive buildings(tower, tower c3 etc)

Weapons upgrades(ammo capacity- luncher , bullet- dmg by 25% or higher - specific for nation)
shield - any another level adds more shield points
Armour- ads more protection(reduces dmg. taken by weapon by 25% for each level)
Amis- upgrades SDI
Drone- upgrade flares(anti rocket defence mounted on units)
The are few specific nation upgrades, but these you should figure out by yourself.

One more advice(if you haven't figured that out yet).
If yo test a nation in skirmish set the AI to inactive mode(select that in the menu). This will allow you to understand specific build used by this nation(experiment).
Learning when AI is active is rather bad idea.

Its a transport vehicle that is unlocked after Land Tech 1 I think. and if you select it. there are 3 buttons in the bottom right of its selection panel along with the regular buttons, such as turn off lights. there is a green, red and yellow button. What do these buttons do?

They(buttons) allow you to produce infantry squads inside the transporter(all other nations transporters have the same ability, but different load capacity)
The red one is rocketry squad, the green is the energy weapon squad(plasma , jon or electric - depending the nation yo're play), the yellow one is the minigun(pulse rifle) squad - base infantry(the best used to capture buildings).
You can however load squads or single soldiers in old fashion way if you like.
One more note .Squads in transporters , build a lot longer than in barracks, so you need to peeper your assault back at base. This ability allows player to avoid both frustration and time in transporter/squad management.
