HoN 2 DotA mod for Heroes of Newerth

HoN 2 DotA is a mod for the awarded Moba game Heroes of Newerth.

It started small, fueled by the growing desire of several Dota and Hon players who wanted the game (Heroes of Newerth) to remain true to its beta roots just like it was when all its heroes were a direct port of Dota Heroes and featured a slower and perhaps more balanced (controled) gameplay.

Sadly S2 Games had to stop making direct ports of Dota heroes and started focusing on making their own hero designs and because of that many of the greatest and most unique Dota heroes were left "unported" and would never see the day on HoN's amazing, fluid and modern Engine.

That is where this mod comes in... Trying to bring back that old feeling of balance and legacy from the old HoN beta days that many players dearly miss. We (the moding team) decided, in a bold move, to port the missing Dota heroes to HoN just as if S2 Games never stopped porting them.

The result of that choice, besides the many hours of hard work and months of balancing is perhaps a rewarding stand-alone client with over 25 new Dota Heroes never ported to HoN before adding up to the already 60+ already masterfully ported Dota Heroes by S2 games back in the old days.

Sadly bringing those 25+ newly ported Dota heroes proved to be a challenge to balance when facing the newly designed unique HoN heroes that already featured some of their abilities but all mixed up so... in a very difficult decision we had no other choice but to remove the new HoN heroes from this mod. :( The Good news is: The Dota Heroes Designs are a proven design tested for many many years and with releases every 3 o 4 months we have a lot of time to balance them even more so the end result is very very balanced gameplay that will feel comfortable for both Dota and HoN players alike.

Main Features as of version 2.7:

- 30+ New Heroes. (Most of them exact Dota heroes ports or at least inspired by them)
- CPU Controlled Ai Bots. (Excellent for new players to learn the game and/or test the new heroes)
- Day one access to whole hero pool. (In HoN2DotA there is no need to unlock/buy heroes or pick them from a limited hero pool, all 90+ heroes are available to the players right from the start).
- Day one access to all alt avatars. (In HoN2DotA there is no need to unlock/buy Alt Avatars, all Alt Avatars are available to the players right from the start).
- No internet connection, accounts or registration required. (Just pick a Nick Name and start playing. This is especially convenient for LAN parties since all games created will be visible over TCP/IP connections, over Hamachi, Tunngle or similar ONLINE LAN tools).
- Multiplayer Playable Custom Maps. (Many of the most amazing custom made maps for HoN are playable with this mod not only in Practice mode but in fully featured multiplayer matches)
- Beta Flavour. (This mod uses HoN's old Beta Engine meaning that there are some differences with the most current version so a few features and UI tweaks are missing from the mod but the feeling is closer to the Beta Times which is one of the main purposes of this mod.
