MiddleEarthProject is a full conversion Tolkien mod for Crusader Kings 2 which will feature bookmarks throughout the Third Age. This mod is being developed independently from any other LotR or Middle Earth mods out there. The map will cover the main areas of Middle Earth, known in the books and films.

So, Middle-Earth is waiting for you! Will you play as the descendant of one of the noble families of Rohan or Gondor?
Will you try to reforge the ancient kingdoms of Elves in Eriador? Or will you try to destroy all the Free Peoples, and claim Middle Earth for Morgoth?
This mod will give you a unique strategy experience of the Third Age in Middle-Earth. From Forodwaith to Bellakar, from Lindon to Rhûn, lead your dynasty and survive the Dark Times. Become one of the most important Lords of the Age!


INSTALLATION GUIDE
1/ Download the mod, and open the .rar file with Winrar or any similar software.
2/ If you've got a former version of the mod, remove it entirely.
2/ Extract MEP 0.1.5b in your "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2/mod" directory (NOT directly in the game folder)
3/ Launch the Game, and enjoy!

This is a full release of the Middle Earth Project mod for Crusader Kings II. This update is compatible with version 2.4.2 of Crusader Kings II. Please delete any old installations of the mod and replace it with the 0.5b full version. Make sure you install in My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod to work properly. For detailed instructions check the included readme.

This is a beta and there will be bugs. Nothing is set in stone and we will appreciate any input that you think might improve the mod.

This version has many issues and we are releasing it to allow bugs to be found quicker. While playable you may have issues with events, balance or unusual happenings. Please help us to fix the mod by reporting bugs on our bug report thread here.

Dude im playing as the empire of gondor and i can only raise 3 thousand troops REALLY???!?!?!?thts messed up, a whole province can produce only 150 troops minimum and 300 max which is also messed up, you need to look up those buildings.

Marriage is effed up (How does an elf marry an eagle?...) Colonization needs work the councilors aren't appearing to have the actions anymore to colonize and purge and whatnot. Very strange marriage mechanics though... Needs work. And I wish the elves weren't made governors when they're technically children. Also there should anly be once sauron and he should command only orcs not have a bunch of maia saurons creating dynasties and whatnot. Also. After the orcs/freefolk war is over they races should start to scheme on one another. Like have it so they aren't as friendly anymore and see who would control middle earth. Dwarves should be more inclined to take their mountain ranges back more than anything and possibly give Kazad-Dum a bigger buff to make their high king more likely to more there instead of staying at maribor. Other than that, seems great. Love being able to start an elven empire versing the humans without falling to the powers of evil.

I do agree on eagles and wilderness they should have a a new religion that doesn't allow them to marry but that might be hard to do

That's the vanilla games fault with the sauron looK alike you can't blame him for that the games spawns character with the same culture as their leader

This mod is a work-in-progress. All the same, it is very good. Being able to role-play with characters from the Tolkien Legendarium at the same time as I engage in grand strategy is great. Being able to add one's own flavour to Middle Earth's history is something I think is truly rewarding. The modder has gone into a lot of detail to make the base game fit the specifications of Arda and its history what with all the intricate family trees that are unnecessary but oh so lovely.
