It's old, but it still functions properly - it changes damage values globally, so I find it complements other addons pretty well. ;)
I hope you'll have fun with this pack, should you decide to give it a shot!

For me personally it runs flawlessly (even better than vanilla CoC, almost no stutters and more stable fps) which comes as a surprise given the Absolute Nature addon. Big thanks for this Overhaul mod! Only problem is, for me at least, every now and then when i try to talk to a NPC and i press F the game crashes to desktop with no X-Ray engine crashed blah blah blah. Just instantly closes the game and no message or crash report appears. Any idea what causes that? Great mod whatsoever and a great job overall! (Also, i'm using Dxtory to cap the fps at 40. Helps a lot with the stuttering)

Hmm, next time it happens, open up a text editor (like notepad) and press ctrl+v, let's see if it generates a log for you. That should help figuring out what's the deal with the crash.

And thanks by the way! ;)

Hmm, my only suggestion is to try and reduce the texture quality a bit, that could help with running out of memory. Alternatively, you could try reducing the population in the game menu. Sorry it leads to crashes for you, it's kinda resource-intensive altogether with the HD models and all.

Don't apologize man, the mod is great and thanks for the fast replies! I had already reduced the population to 0.5 and will try out lowering the textures! A big thanks again for your effort and support. Good hunting! ;)

Very nice mod combination.
Could you please add dynamic fire place, playable tent to improve immersion?

You should be able to install them on top of the pack if you apply the appropriate patches (AO3+OA for the Tent, and the Questlines patch for the fireplace addon). I might update this pack in some time, in that case I'll make sure to include those mods. ;)

Thanks Prink again for making this mod pack!

FYI for future readers, the deployable tent mod overwrites Plink's economy changes. I believe I properly merged them. Let me know if anyone wants them; it only took 10 minutes, if that.

Nice! This is almost exactly the same as my 'mod it until it breaks' build, whilst said build was still working that is. I then added a few more addons to it, and it broke. Oops ;-)

Scopes appear in the upper left corner of the screen, and dont zoom in at all. Also they only cover one quarter of the screen. Is there a way to fix it? Nice mod pack btw

Edit: They do zoom in, but they are not centered and scaled correctly.

is there anyway to fix the texture problem in cordon with the loner texture crash without having to play on dx 11? My PC isn't really the best and I can play fine on dx 8 but on dx 11 it runs pretty bad. Update: I found the texture in question it's newloner sunrise ultra_nationalistic_loadout_a1_col

Why don't my cross-hares turn green or red when I'm aiming at an NPC, it was my quick way of not killing friendly factions. Is there a way to fix this? Other than a few other small tweeks I made, I love the Mod.

Sorry for the late answer! One of the main aims of the mod is to increase realism by removing the UI and the help you get from it, and as such, NPC identification was purposefully removed from the game. There might be a way of enabling it under the game options though, you can try giving it a shot, maybe it works. Otherwise just exercise caution. ;) I know it's sometimes hard to identify other inhabitants, but the HD models should help a bit.

Thanks for this mod pack.
Don't know how to critique this addon cause is so damn good. Do you make the "roadside picnic" addon? I really enjoy that pack and style for CoC.
So, yeah. I'm gonna make a dramatization of a stalker and a trader who's setting him up at start.
-good morning stalker-
-hi siderovich, I need something to detect anomalies, and a good Geiger counter integrated with it.
-sure, this one beeps on detection of artifacts, anomalies, and buzz on radiation fields...
-what? No. I don't want that ****. Give me one who doesn't make any sound.
(...)
-at all?
-yeah, cause I'm so badass. I don't need beeps, also I may mess up one another.
-but... But. Is two kinds of beepings. I promise you won't mistake them.
-no... I'm sure I'll be ok
-but, some of those anomalies can kill you in an instant. A horrible dead
-don't worry. I've done this before.
-but you have some good gear then, and I'm sure you took the whole packet. Is for your own protection!
-no. The zone is very overrated. We don't need those kinds of things anymore
-you will die, sir. A horrible, painfully...
-ah, almost forgot. I Also want the guns to have a fov like I was two meters away from them. That will gimme the edge I need.
(...)
-that will be 100 ru.
-here... See you around siderovich
-... Yeah... Sure...

So. That's all, really. If there's a way to back the fov to normal when aiming without scopes. And beeping when close to anomalies... I kind of fear for my (virtual) life there.
Also I tried to add outfit loot, but somehow it ctd every time. The same with stash from SOCH and CS.
I must be doing something wrong.
OK. Thanks again for such a fantastic pack.

It cause an increasing amount of ctd, even without any other addon. Such a shame, cause it`s a really good pack. i hope someday you can fix or test this better.
anyway, tnx again.

Hmm, can you paste a crash log here the next time it happens? The pack is pretty resource-intensive, mostly due to the HD models. You can try adding -noprefetch to the executable (instructions in description) or changing your dx settings/lowering your graphics. It runs absolutely stable on my end (had a friend test it too on his rig too just to be sure), but you might never know with Stalker... :P

Reply Good karma+1 vote
martapintos1963
martapintos1963 - - 54 comments

Absolutly. I`ve been using -noprefetch since 1.3 CoC. Also window mode. I down the graphs to dx9 and get more stable (usual CTD now and then, no big deal), but no other addon seems to work.
i deleted the ogg sound to get the beeping again, no luck (oddly only beeps when i open inventory)
There is anyway to fix this?

Hm, I seem to be having a persistent crashing issue relating to the alife. When I look in the log file the problem seems to be:
"stack traceback:
....l.k.e.r. - call of chernobyl\gamedata\scripts\_g.script:73: in function 'alife_object'
... of chernobyl\gamedata\scripts\sim_squad_scripted.script:132: in function <... of chernobyl\gamedata\scripts\sim_squad_scripted.script:124>
ALIFE OBJECT ID IS 65535!
"
This error loops again and again until
"- Disconnect
- Destroying level"
is shown at which point it stops. Rinse and repeat this error until it causes an out of memory crash. Is this fixable?

Hmm, where does the issue happen? (I mean in which area of the game?) Honestly, I have no clue as to what could cause it but I'll try to look into it later.

Reply Good karma+1 vote

Sir_Bananington - - 25 comments

It seems to just be a general issue. I've started multiple new games and have the error pop up anywhere from messing with an anomaly to just walking around not doing much at all. The main common thread is that it always tends to happen about 5 to 10 minutes after starting a new game and the fact that it's always the same error.

That's strange... it's obviously some sort of issue with the dynamic a-life mod, but it's really hard to figure out the exact cause from afar. I will check if I can find some sort of solution once I have some free time. Did you add the addon pack to a fresh install of CoC? Are you using any other addons in addition? (Just trying to see if it could be cause by any external factor.)

Sorry for the late reply. I did in fact have some mods installed while getting this error and managed to narrow down the probable culprits. They are Eugenium Hazardous Anomalies, Ignite or Extinguish Campfires [1.4.22], and Extended Dynamic News. The other mods I had installed at the time were just small texture and sound tweaks and probably not responsible.

I started as a Loner in Cordon, and some strange stuff is going on. Bandits are walking freely in the village attacking ONLY me and none of the other Loners which is kind of confusing, shouldn't the other loner react somehow if a bandit is walking right in front of their eyes?

Hmm, that's strange, never encountered that issue myself. Can you check the Relations tab on your PDA? By default, bandits and loners should be enemies and shoot each other at sight. Maybe try starting a new game to check if the issue persists. To be honest, I have no idea why it might happen in the first place.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I want to survive the zone, and I don't like what I perceive to be the artificial difficulty of Misery & Last Day. Thank you Prink!

I suggest adding Inaccurate Zombies & perhaps Immersive Fast Travel to the pack.

Also, I saw mention of a dynamic fireplace mod. I can't find it, does anyone have a link?

When I click the guide section of the pda, the game crashes with an error message. Any ideas why? I installed this addon on a clean coc install with no additional addons. I can't post the log right now, was wondering if someone might now the cause of the crash regardless.

Hey, just saw you message in my inbox, sorry about the late reply. To be honest, I don't think it will work, this pack is held together by duct tape and chewing gum (and sheer willpower pretty much), it's hard to add additional content without breaking it, especially when we're talking about larger scale addons, like the ones you have mentioned. It all comes down to what files the addon changes - however as I can see, there is support for DrX Questlines, AO and OA in Lost to the Zone, so it's not a lost cause, but it would require a lot of work to get it stable. (Living Legend is out of the question thought because it required CoC 1.5.)

Lost to the Zone seems very problematic to me due to all the content it changes - I believe it would require a lot of tweaking to get it done. For that, you would need to individually change every file that gets overwritten during install, and even so I'm pretty sure it would break something along the way - but if you're feeling adventurous and know what you're doing, you can always give it a shot. ;)
