I have a problem. put mod war factions version 2.2, and version of Call of Chernobyl 1.4.22. maybe the wrong version of Call of Chernobyl installed. if you want I can throw a screenshot just tell me where

Hey guys,
I found out relevant info regarding MSVS 2015 and XP target builds.
Apparently XP users need some top sikret MSVC 2015 redist dll's that must be installed manually [bundling your programs with needed dll's in same folder doesn't work for this particular MSVC version].
I've got dual boot 7 64bit with XP SP3 32bit.
If you supply me CoC 1.4.22 binaries built for XP SP3 I will gladly test out if they do work.

Also I'm curious to see whenever this will affect the amount of random stuttering x-ray engine suffers from at vista/7/any newer windows but not at xp [at least for SoC and CoP], which might result in useful debugging data for open-xray developers.

Well you might be in luck, because before the main reason I didn't support XP was because I did not have all the third party libraries required by engine as projects in the solution. They were prebuilt libs. So even targeting XP wouldn't have worked, everything needs to be recompiled with v120_xp. Recently I added them as projects.

I'll get back to you on this when I get time to reconfigure the solution for an XP build.

Surprised you were/are considering this XP compatibility, but I would appreaciate it for one.

There was a XP compatible xrEngine from januari 2017 floating around and it actually works OK so far for 1.2.24 and 1.3.2 installs of CoC. Just that these versions are really hard to find now.

Found an unnofficial CoC v1.4.22 Windows XP patch. Works fine so far. I checked out the changes and it is just the version check in the PE header inside xrEngine.exe: Change two bytes in xrEngine.exe at offset 0x170 and 0x178: both from value 06 to 04; the whole package then runs in Windows XP. :) Why did I not find this a week earlier?...

Righto Rog i'll get reading, currently downloading the CoC SDK (someone seed torrent please?). I'll look at acquiring 3DSMax also. <- Is this a requirement for level building?

Meanwhile a concept is formulating.

Yeah you need max or maya, only plugins for this exist. Not sure if there are blender plugins for everything. When I get time, I'm going to try blender, as I have much more experience with it and just found out plugins exist for it. If so then something I've always wanted to do was add stalker animations

MMMMMM tasty animations, if it's one thing Stalker needs is moar betterer animations. Anything in particular you want to do? New animations or perhaps improve on the vanilla ones?
