Time for another update for Dune: Arrakian Wars. This time we focus on the Harkonnen Devastator. For some people will come a big suprise now, because our design was based on the Emperor model for a long time. However, recently we decided that the Devastator should not be a mech like in Emperor, but a tank like in Dune II. The model is already finished, but the texture is still work in progress.
Like its predecessors it has nuclear powered engine - if the tank is on the verge of destruction the reactor will overload, resulting in a devastating nuclear explosion. In accordance to Harkonnen war doctrine, this can also be manually triggered by a specialpower. The armament of the Devastator is also unqiue. At first, the Devastator is armed with a Dual-Plasma-Cannon and a Missile-Launcher. After reaching the Veteran Status, a heavy MG is added to the chassis, and reaching the Elite status activates the 2 side mounted Flamethrowers. When reaching the Heroic Level, another specialpower is avaible.
Also there is a design change at the Ordos units. As an experiment the model of the Lasertank was overworked and will function as the template for this new design. Based on this, the model of the Cobra was created. The Cobra must be deployed to serve its role as an artillery, but while undeployed it fills the role of a heavy tank. The Models are finished and just waiting for a texture. The present models of the APC and the Deviator will be redone once the remaining Ordos vehicles have been modeled.

As little extra we show you our new Formation Preview. We decided not to stick with the Formation Preview of TW but to use another technique. The result can be seen on the following picture.
