I love it but the RA MCV didn't fade-in its textures, only the buildings did that. Not to start a mod war(as I said I love it), but I think the RA MCV unpack animation I made for The Red Alert is more true to the original. I'd also love to know how you made the textures fade-in like that.
but the prism towers didn't transmit the beams of other towers, they boosted the beams, maybe look into the beam cannon's ability to boost obelisks of light
Not to criticize a well made model but.... MUST you use the "porn-nurse" look for the nurse. I don't mind having nurses since they're sort of a staple, but the "porn-nurse" design only really made sense for James. They keep getting reused because of the popularity of the bubble-headed nurse.
... Does that mannequin have breasts AND a *****? So the top half is from a female mannequin and the bottom half from a male? .... Why was the male mannequin anatomically correct?
Lets make this clear. Again. The mod is not dead, but the members have all been very busy on other things and admittedly under-motivated. I've already made the commitment that, unless there is a serious amount of work being done on this mod at the time, the mod WILL be released at the end of summer, both a compiled version (which is somewhat playable, AI notwithstanding), and the complete source so that if someone else or another team wants to finish it up, they may. It was started by the Catholic church almost 250 years ago to shorten the typed/written name of 'Christmas' in casual usage. Of course, 90% of Christmas traditions have nothing to do with Christ anyway, and come from older pagan traditions, including gift-giving, peace and love towards your fellow man, holly, mistletoe, tree decorating, Dec. 25... and so on.
Of course, what any of this has to do with Black Mesa, we may never know....
That said, we would have no way of knowing if the devs decided to release around Christmas because the devs never tell as anything to begin with. With all due respect to the mod team for what I'm sure was a difficult endeavor and labor-of-love, which I'm sure will be worth it once released, everyone must admit that Black Mesa is the epitomic example of how NOT to handle PR.
Sorry that not much appears to be happening ATM. We started shifting focus to TRA... then started shifting back to The Forgotten in order to release a patch, especially since making the top 100 in the ModDB MOTY awards (btw, go vote for The Forgotten!). Also, I, personally, have been incredibly busy for personal reasons, which doesn't look like it will let up until summer.... Considering what we have left to do on TRA, I'm hoping we can get it done by this time next year.
Indeed, there are plenty here willing to help out with the English, me included. That said, I would suggest keeping the top right text the way it is. The broken English fits nicely with the deranged writing.
I know comment-advice can be irksome, but I suggest toning down the beams of the laser turrets. I really don't think they should match the intensity of the Obelisk. I would also consider making them pure red and add a pulsing effect.
I will confirm that CnC Labs will focus on this mod after the Forgotten is wrapped up. Right now the focus is on fixing bugs in the Forgotten. That said, I've already slowly started to get back into working on this mod. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot I can do on my own; my emphasis is art and much of the art is done. The mod will resume in earnest once the other members of CnC Labs are finished with their work on the Forgotten.
1: You're not supposed to control those fiends. They're wild and have no beast master to control them. Spawn them near the enemy's base, such as where their harvester is collecting tiberium.
As I said in another reply, this isn't 'exactly' the old Tiberium, this tiberium cultivated by The Forgotten, and as such, is corralled by them. Also, the classic tiberium has a much smaller growth radius than the craters do, and have a smaller max-resources cap.
