personally I like the adventure style without enemies. I'v always loved Silent hill for the atmosphere, story and puzzles than combat. which this game has in spades
I also imagine it's a bit more versatile, quicker, and better armored than the V3, not to mention its projectile can't be shot out of the air

the current in-game version is shinier than the render as the render there isn't using the specular or cube map
Rigging infantry is no different than rigging any other RA3 model, the challenge comes from making natural looking animations by hand.

I love it but the RA MCV didn't fade-in its textures, only the buildings did that. Not to start a mod war(as I said I love it), but I think the RA MCV unpack animation I made for The Red Alert is more true to the original. I'd also love to know how you made the textures fade-in like that.

but the prism towers didn't transmit the beams of other towers, they boosted the beams, maybe look into the beam cannon's ability to boost obelisks of light
Not to criticize a well made model but.... MUST you use the "porn-nurse" look for the nurse. I don't mind having nurses since they're sort of a staple, but the "porn-nurse" design only really made sense for James. They keep getting reused because of the popularity of the bubble-headed nurse.

Lets make this clear. Again. The mod is not dead, but the members have all been very busy on other things and admittedly under-motivated. I've already made the commitment that, unless there is a serious amount of work being done on this mod at the time, the mod WILL be released at the end of summer, both a compiled version (which is somewhat playable, AI notwithstanding), and the complete source so that if someone else or another team wants to finish it up, they may. Until then....

"Xmas" is pronounced "Christmas". The "X" represents a cross (i.e. "criss"-mas). It was started by the Catholic church almost 250 years ago to shorten the typed/written name of 'Christmas' in casual usage. Of course, 90% of Christmas traditions have nothing to do with Christ anyway, and come from older pagan traditions, including gift-giving, peace and love towards your fellow man, holly, mistletoe, tree decorating, Dec. 25... and so on.
Of course, what any of this has to do with Black Mesa, we may never know....
That said, we would have no way of knowing if the devs decided to release around Christmas because the devs never tell as anything to begin with. With all due respect to the mod team for what I'm sure was a difficult endeavor and labor-of-love, which I'm sure will be worth it once released, everyone must admit that Black Mesa is the epitomic example of how NOT to handle PR.
Sorry that not much appears to be happening ATM. We started shifting focus to TRA... then started shifting back to The Forgotten in order to release a patch, especially since making the top 100 in the ModDB MOTY awards (btw, go vote for The Forgotten!). Also, I, personally, have been incredibly busy for personal reasons, which doesn't look like it will let up until summer.... Considering what we have left to do on TRA, I'm hoping we can get it done by this time next year.
