In real life my name is Jordan Heaton. I live in Colorado and I work for my family business while I attend school. Damn wonder I find time to mod, but somehow I manage. I'm studying Biology and will attend an internship in South Dakota this summer with nothing but college girls!!! Actually there will be one other guy, but shrugs*. I obviously have an obsession with J.R.R. Tolkien's fantastic world of imagination, but I also have a few other passions. I really enjoy mechanic work, and right now that's my day job. I have a certain thing for Ford Mustangs, and that's what I drive. I don't really like pollution, but I love to drive, see my delima? My greatest passion is Biology, Taxonomy, and Evolution, and believe it or not I am also religious (very liberally of course) I like meeting new people, learning, making things (mods, computers, cars, etc...) and I have a real soft spot for red heads. Well, I suppose I've yammered on more than is wise for a busy wizard and I'm out word remaining.

Well great news then, come January 13th you no longer start in the prison, you start in Bree. Full release is a loaded word, there is always going to be more content we add to the mod, probably even ten years down the road. We are not just creating Hobbiton the Mordor like in the book or films, we are creating all of Middle-earth, even places were the books never took you. We want to put as much detail into places like the Grey Mountain, Mirkwood, Khand, South Gondor and Harad as we do in the places that the Lord of the Rings takes place, and as such, we will be constantly adding new quests and content. Also, remember to find all the latest news and content on the new ModDB profile @ Moddb.com

I'm back from my internship so I can start modding again, I'll direct the team to focus on fixing the errors and making a very playable demo for the future before we continue further development. No eta though, just soon...

Hi everyone, I'm just reminding you all about my internship in South Dakota Badlands that may last until the end of October but my end as soon as August 12th. I will resume work on the mod when I return to Colorado and have a chance to work on it with my mod computer. I do not have regular access to an internet connection so it may be a while till the next you hear from me, and even longer till the next beta. Until then, have fun.

Sorry for my disappearance. As some of you know, I live in Colorado, USA, and more importantly, Weld County, where a stage 3 tornado touched down and knocked out the power and fried my power supply to my computer. Luckily no data was lost, however I was out of computer access for over a week.

You don't start in Middle-earth yet. We've coded it, but we haven't implemented it yet because different races start in different starting locations, and quite obviously, every location, or even mostly every location is ready, done, or even started.

The next update was going to be on Eregion, but we'll make it on the wilderness of Eridor instead. As many of you may have noticed, the wilderness is pretty bleak in the current betas. This will change with the upcoming updates. In fact a lot of things will change in upcoming updates ;)

I'll ask Ghostfig if he can find the problem, like I said, I cannot go ingame because my BSA files are corrupt, therefore I cannot install the latest patch, and my disk is corrupt, which is why my BSA is corrupt, which is also why I can't reinstall. I need to buy a new disk. Sorry.

That sounds like a border issue. I know that Middle-earth is not a border region, but is this happening to anybody else? Weird things happen with mods sometimes.

Actually the British take it much much further, I only wish I could take April first as seriously as the British. And to discredit your anti-American sentiments towards April 1st, I would like to point out that it started in France where the group of people that started the new year on January 1st called those that still used April 1st as the new year fools. So next time you decide to insult my country try using better reasons ;)

That is understandable. I complete package on Eriador will be released "relatively" shortly. Meaning maybe by October. A release of "finished" scale is still years in the making though.

I don't know how many of you folks are familiar with the region known as Eregion, but that is what our next update will be on. It will feature the ruined elven city Ost-in-Edhil, the city where the elven rings of power were made. It will also feature remains of other elven ruins all over the region. For more information on Eregion please see En.wikipedia.org

On a happier note, I'll upload an update including the Barrow Downs, the Southern Misty Mountains, and the WIP Dunland city.

I don't know how to make the HDR textures or I would. Antialiasing is automatic. The mod is so massive that a team of less then 12 full time members making it of Crysis quality is rather unreasonable. We actually do want to get to the point of a full Eriador release, let alone finishing all of Middle-earth!

Speaking of Eriador and releases, I would not expect it any time sooner than this October. On a brighter note however, we will be making several VERY exciting updates for download, thus to better you're Middle-earth Adventures. We are planing on releasing a large amount of content our next beta. The content is as follows; The Shire (Revamped), Barrow Downs, Bree-land (revamped), Rivendell, Ruins of Arnor, Ruins of Eregion, Ruins of Angmar, a fully detailed Misty Mountains, with tons of adventure, part of a very very very vast dark large Moria, and a fully detailed wilderness, along with a HUGE ton of quests, NPCS, and adventure! It'll be a while, but were are hoping the next beta will be a winner. :)

On a small tangent of my own, a large cooperation like EA games could never capture the light of Tolkien's fantastic world, beyond the comprehension of elves and men, in a manner that would please hard core devotees to his fantastic world. This is a mod made by hard core Middle-earth enthusiasts, for hard core Middle-earth enthusiasts. Even if another RPG based on Middle-earth is made, we'll keep going because we want our vision to come to life, not some cash cow's vision :)

After we get a bit further on the mod and make a full Eriador release, or at least close to, we will start work on a voice pack that you can plugin to the mod. We'll even make a few demonstrational promos available for download beforehand. :)

Sorry for my recent inactivity, my internet has been down the past few days. I'll try to answer everyone's questions.

-No Voices; This is because each race has been modified to fit in the Middle-earth world, and thus their voices have not yet been converted. It will be an easy fix, but not high on my list of things to do considering all that needs to be done. As for voices of characters like Gandalf, Aragorn, Denethor, Elrond, Haldir, etc... We will be using a Voice Changing Software that we hope to use at it's fullest potential. If we do use this software at fullest potential it will sound like we actually hired the entire LotR cast.

-Video; I don't suppose I could have said it any better than Ghostfig, but we will be making plenty more videos, some of which most of you will like, and some of which will be more demonstrational rather than promotional, such as the last one.

-3d Modeling; This is how we make something as small as a weapon or as large as Minas Morgul. If you're interested in 3d modelling I recommend Blender; It's free, you don't have to steal it, and it's very powerful. 3ds Max and Maya are great programs to0 and nothing is as great for UV mapping and texturing as Zbrush.
