In real life my name is Jordan Heaton. I live in Colorado and I work for my family business while I attend school. Damn wonder I find time to mod, but somehow I manage. I'm studying Biology and will attend an internship in South Dakota this summer with nothing but college girls!!! Actually there will be one other guy, but shrugs*. I obviously have an obsession with J.R.R. Tolkien's fantastic world of imagination, but I also have a few other passions. I really enjoy mechanic work, and right now that's my day job. I have a certain thing for Ford Mustangs, and that's what I drive. I don't really like pollution, but I love to drive, see my delima? My greatest passion is Biology, Taxonomy, and Evolution, and believe it or not I am also religious (very liberally of course) I like meeting new people, learning, making things (mods, computers, cars, etc...) and I have a real soft spot for red heads. Well, I suppose I've yammered on more than is wise for a busy wizard and I'm out word remaining.

Yes, the "normal maps" have too high of an intensity modifier. The appear more "glossy" because of that. I am trying to make a better normal map, although I may be able to remedy it by changing material settings.

Dunlendings prefer round houses with no windows. They do have a few square style houses that were created during the time of Tharbad when Dunedain influence was greater.

Barad-Dur Tower Concept. This is what our models will be based on. It's already been said, but bears repeating, we will NOT be making Sauron a lighthouse eye on top of the tower. Sauron had a physical body in the book and will in this mod.

This is the largest Dunland town, home of the largest Dunland clan. It's still very WIP, but it's coming along quite nice. After I finish it, we'll post an update and elaborate on Dunland and why it is exactly that they live similar to the Rohirrim.

You're right, the whole world needs A LOT more detail, but you have to have a foundation to build on, and that's exactly what we're working on at the moment. You can expect much greater detail as we lay out a better foundation. This is especially true with the wilderness. You must realize, in the words of J.R.R. Tolkien. "Long they laboured in the regions of Eä, which are vast beyond the thought of Elves and Men, until in the time appointed was made Arda..." This mod is not going to be an overnighter ;) Expect this mod to take many years yet. Of course we'll make tons of releases while we're working on it, that way nobody misses out, but I doubt this mod will ever be truly "finished". We'll always find something more to put into it. :)

I like our concept more then the movies, though they are very similar. We won't have a lighthouse style Sauron on the top of ours though :P The eye of Sauron was actually the Palantir he stole from Minas Ithil.

There will be no fast travel in the game. There will be a transportation system similar to Morrowind's using boats for coastal and large river areas, and there will be escorts you can hire to transport you. We may make it live action where you actually wait on the boat or follow your escort, or we may make it instant like in Morrowind, however we are yet to fully decide. That stage of development is still a long ways away.

As far as smoking pipes go, we have been given permission to implement the current smoking pipe mod into our mod, so we will do so.

To address the issues with the voices; the problem may be with the changing of the names of races to fit in a Middle-earth setting. I had assumed that the voices would stay default when I changed each race to their appropriate name, i.e. Imperial became Gondorian. I think simply renaming the voice data, or assigning it should fix the problem, however this is least of my worries in this very very pre-beta :)

To address large scale battles; large scale battles in the sense of you being amidst thousands of NPCs is not realistic. I would highly recommend Fourth Age; Total War, a modification for Rome; Total War if you are desiring to relive the epic battles of Middle-earth. We will have large battles in the mod, though the player will not be placed in a gigantic battlefield. Todays computers just cannot handle that much complex Radiant AI, as well as all the other things that make Oblivion Memory intensive. For full details on how large scale battles will take place, please see this post on the Elder Scrolls Forums, Bethsoft.com
