I was soooo excited when they started this project, its sad that times have moved on and games like bioshock, COD4, crysis (except for the alien chapters at the end) have defined what a game can be now.

I havent even finished HL2 Ep2 as its just "more of the same". I wonder if Black Mesa will deliver or if it was "a good idea at the time".

Given how long it is taking - what 4 years so far? I wonder if even the development team has moved on. Maybe a lesson to not be so ambitious with mods...

Something tells me there might just be some other game we want by 2020. just a hunch...

Great game until you get into the alien crap towards to the end, then it just gets a little boring imo..

Worth getting for the first bit however.

Um, is been some time...

I have loaded up and am laying smootly on Medium Settings at 800x600 with the Dell that I detailed above. It wants to auto-detect at high but it was fare to slow to play at those speeds.

I just got my new Dell laptop delivered and am loading Crysis at the moment it is 2.4GHZ 4GB Ram 200G hardrive 256MB Video Card 15.4 inch screen (the 17 inch is just too big) I'll let you know how (if) it performs...

ok, first things first, I have to run it on low settings, cant even crack 800x600 with a decent frame rate. Have 2Gb ram and 128mb vid card. So thats the down side. For reference I get good frame rate and good specs from HL2 and BF2142, and fantastic action from UT2004. If these struggle on your PC dont bother until you upgrade or get the 360 version.

BUT... apart from that the game is fantastic, the "world" is complex, the sound design brilliant and the look and feel of the whole thing is just wonderful. The weapons are original (the Plasmids anyway) and the puzzles just right.

The 'actors' are a little wooden and certainly dont have the rag doll feel of HL2, but this could be my frame rate, I dont know.

hope you enjoy, I am only chapter 2 into it and it is becoming more and more involving and you become part of the world.

A realistic Zombie mod??

Looks great, but being a father I wish they had not added the "evil" little girls, thats just a little yucky. Other than that bring it on!

Oh, and in terms of specs, i think i may need a new PC or buy a 360....

I had to remove this from my system beacuse it was too resource hungry and stuttered a lot making the game no fun. try Minerva instead.

Are you kidding??? The quality of your media is very good, except the health and armour boxes (rechargers) sorry, but they look crap. :-(

one small comment about the media, the bright green LEDs on the glock make it look cheap and nasty, you may wish to "dull" them down a little

OMG! the new media at there homepage is fantastic. one small (but reaonable gripe however is that the process to view the media sucks, why cant you just click on it and get a pop-up?).

Anyway go check it out it is really very good. the music is also noteworthy. Well done BM Team keep it up.

i bought it with lots of anticipation, but was pretty disappointed. even the so called next gen engine was really that special. HL2 is muchbetter and with the addition of counter srtike better value too.

whats this about, come on EA, pls put out a patch that addresses this, 6 maps is a joke right?

in short the game is pretty good but titan mode is just a rip off of UT2004 onslaught. the action is a little slow for me and it you diw you get respawned awy from the action with then taqkes forver to get back in.

Graphics and musc/sound is excellent.

One question? I have map alternative keys for some functions including invert mouse is ticked yet when using the vehciles it seem to on be able to use the default keys and invert mouse is unticked? am i right or have i just missed and option somewhere in the menu system?

Help on this would be appreciated

patched Q4 and yes no need for DVD, thanks, now I can load up and play for 10 mins or so if I like for a break etc

I bought and played Episode 1, then downloaded and played this mod. My god it is good. keep up the good work, cant wait for part 3.

If you are looking for a single player mod that is **** hot then get this now, no bugs, great game play, level design is fantastic.

If only more modders were doing stuff like this rather than aiming for huge ambitious projects that never get completed.

I hate to tell you guys but 90 degrees would shoot into the ground, not backwards :-)

thanks for the mail in Aug, sorry I didnt see it until down. Dont get me wrong Farcry looks good and has some good features, the thing that really turned me off was the wooden characters and lack of ragdoll physics. If someone could mod Farcry to fix these issues I'd give it another go.

there seems to have been a lot of time consuming dsicussion about this mod which has just distracted from the real issue here;

we are fans of HL1 & HL2 and are supportive of this mod. Keep up the good work and ignore those that are not creative enough or passionate enough to develop something themselves.

I bought Farcry recently but only just loaded it up with excitment.

Unfortuanely i was disappointed. While the graphics are original and pretty thats about it. the game play I thought was average and it just lacked the elements of games like HL2. The enemies didnt have ragdoll physics as an example so just looked wooden.

The "story" was just forced and didnt really feel intergrated.

I have uninstalled FarCry to make room for something else and i'm afraid wont be returning to it. Its a pity as i expected great things, but i think i've been spoiled by the latest batch of FPS.

This level is a remake of a Q3 level and, well basically looks like it. why wouldnt i just reinstall Q3 and get max fps?????

Q3 if a fantastic game, but nobody is playing these days, i can never find a decent game online, usually 1/32 players & this sort of rubbish.

Is the HDR optionsal (ie turn on/off) for ppl with slower pc's? i play HL2 on laptop without problems but have not yet downloaded Lost Coast.
