Hey, welcome to my Mod DB profile. I have a keen interest in games development and I wish to get a job in the industry. I am trying to set a challenge for myself and that is for me to experience all areas of games development and to improve my skills in all areas of games development. So far I have concentrated mostly on mapping and 3d modelling, but hopefully I can add games programming (CC# XNA) to that list soon. At the moment I am a member of Flaming Ice working on the PSP homebrew title Solitude, I am a mapper and a modeller on that project.

We're sorry, but no blog posts were found here. Boring yes, but as confucius always said - if you have nothing good to say, why say anything at all? Check back later, perhaps something exciting will pop-up and be worth blogging about, like season 3 of the teletubbies.

Speak your mind, rant about games, mods and the development scene, it's simple and who knows maybe someone will read it and agree. It will feel right!

yeah, UVing isn't too bad, just gotta figure out a gameplan for what kind of texture the asset will use. For instance, if it uses a tilable texture, you are going to unwrap it alot different than if everything is going to have unique UVs.

Alas, texturing I think is the true art behind an environment artist. You can make an awesome model, but if the texture isn't up to par, it can turn out to be a horrible asset all together. I suggest you try and get your hands on some Gnomon Workshop DVDs. They have tons of different ones for whatever you want to learn, they really helped me.

I bid you farewell, I hope these small tips help you, and I look forward to seeing your future work!

I read your comment in the 3D Artists group and understand you want to get into the game industry, environment artist I take it? I will tell you that if you want to get into the industry, you've got to get good with photoshop and texturing your models, the models are nice, but the texture is more than half of what makes a model great. You prolly already know this, but thought I'd throw it out there since it seems like none of your models are textured. Hope this helps and good luck!
