Well, you could use logic_case. That's still placed by hand ofc, unless you do a crazy setup with a func_tracktrain, a point_template, and a logic_timer.
I'm talking about [i]your[/i] screenshots, I'm saying everything other than the skybox looks brighter than the snow, but the snow should be brighter because it is white. As far as what it looks like without HDR enabled, change mat_dxlevel to something below 95 (unless there's a more effecient way to disable HDR- I wouldn't know, I have a dx8 card).
As far as the camera is concerned, if you're making this mod entirely with hammer, I don't think creating a thirdperson camera will work (I've tried before, but logic_measure_movement both translates AND rotates its target.) If this is the case, I'd try setting the camera's yaw at multiples of 90° and creating 4 different "control systems" for each direction of the camera.
I thought the screenshots were fullbright, but then I saw some shadows by looking more closely. Go easy on the lighting, the objects look brighter than the snow (which is strange, since white objects reflect the most light).

So this is melee only? Because melee weapons in an online game is the very definition of ********. At least Valve made backstabs more difficult.

My goodness, gorgeous! Might be too many alpha blended textures (sometimes rendering order gets goofy).
The slime looks cheap... maybe use refractive/water shader, with a tint layer (and modulate shader for dx7 and dx8 if you don't use forcerefract). Would look cool if both had mod2x on.
come to think of it, i don't think i'd want to play on a server with more than 64 players... But it would be useful for mods that use large amounts of resources, such as mods that use a lot of NPCs or vehicles.

It now says GeneralDodo is the mod leader of Synergy. As far as anyone on the Synergy team is concerned, he's extinct (ba-dum pssh!)... we haven't seen him in ages. Worse still, I am no longer recognized as a developer of Synergy. My fear is that other members will be unrecognized, and MrHankey (technically co-leader, but currently the real leader) will be unable to make changes.
Played the first map, it was pretty fun. 2 complaints, tho:
1. If you right click on an un-rescued ally, he gets attacked
2. HL2 AI (not your fault, of course). Retreat... !!! !!!!!! I SAID RETREAT YOU IDIOT!!!!
