You have been locked in a prison where illegal genetic experiments have been going on. The scientist figure out how to genetically make anyone go into a rage. They call it Abuse. It has gotten loose from them and spread through out the entire prison. You have to fight your way through all the mutated and enraged enemies and make sure this doesn't leave the prison.
In 1997 the source and graphics were publicly released, leading to several ports to windows and other modern operating systems. The levels, sounds and music were released later. Armed with the source code and the game’s editor Abuse is fully modable.

Thats madness I have a GT540M and EA expects me to play this!!?
Man this is awesome! I've been trying to play this game through abandonware, but it has some sort of anti-pirate thing on that one, finding it here free is just great! I would actually pay a couple of euros for this one, but free is always great! :)
I remember this game as i played it in 1995 on the Amiga, absolute classic!
Nice, I played this years ago on my Gp2x. It's too bad that there isn't any joystick support. It would work nice with an analog stick for aiming.

OK, it is - just noticed the link to the official page ;-]. This is super cool, cause getting the newest version of Abuse in GNU/Linux distros is rare - now I can get if from Desura :-).

most of the code you'd want to modify is interpreted, so all you need is a plain text editor (except notepad, which doesnt read the newline or carriage return or w/e characters correctly)

As mods for Abuse were already mentioned: any chance of seeing these mods in Desura's ModDB?
Where the hell do u get mod tools 4 this game i love it... its bloody hard though but i would recommend downloading this game from www.acidgames.com or try 2 find it on google
