Meh not bad but not great either... One or two very good scares but added with the one or two mistimed ones they do kind of negate each other. For me rooms were far to big and dark especially down in the basement where perhaps one or two candles would have been better. The storyline was good although short and for a first attempt is a great stepping stone...

Not a lot to say here to be honest... It was a good first custom story for you. It was laggy in places but smooth in others and with one or two changes you're going to make a very good custom story maker.

One or two points for future reference however, first the door when you have to escape the watery part when you die should open out instead of in as it's quite difficult to do when being chased and perhaps a little more focus on a story would be better suited... Other than that everything was good, nice mapping, no overuse of jumpscares and nice oil placements (always seem to be in the rooms when you need them)

Overall make one or two changes and you'll go far... looking forward to your next custom story :)

Actually a really impressive custom story despite it's length. A good few scares along the way and the story flowed nicely added to the smoothness of the custom story (lag wise) all results in a top job :)

After spending around four hours playing this custom story, i've come to the conclusion that it is one of the better stories on this site. As with all my reviews i'm going to break it up into pros and cons then form my overall conclusion...

Pros
Unique Items - Loved, loved, loved some of the items in this custom story for example the pickupable grunts etc were all very nice and uncommon to see such detail put into a custom story
Maps - Some of the rooms etc. were very well thought out, in particular the one in the fireplace really caught my eye
Story - interesting story that was fairly simple to follow
Your Ideas - Really liked the ability to take candles with you and regenerating oil is a great feature

Cons
Running - The story did involve a lot of running in the big rooms which can be annoying at times
Items - Some of the items were near impossible to find e.g i struggled to find the key in the bedroom (on top of the bed) so perhaps easier items to find would be better
Puzzle - The one puzzle in particular that foxed me was when one of the keys falls down the hole, i might have done it wrong but i spent 4 or 5 minutes trying to catch it in mid air which was frustrating

Overall i really enjoyed playing the custom story and the original features made it that much better :)

Just your basic custom story to be honest. I didn't really follow the story and in my opinion there were FAR too many "cheap jumpscares" some of which i didn't even noticed they happened so fast (e.g flashing dead guys). You also said that V 1.2 was smoother which in all honesty it wasn't - the last section of the maps were unbelievably laggy which spoilt the custom story

Let me start off by saying i really really really wanted to give this a 10. I thoroughly enjoyed playing your custom story and this review will be split into the pros and the one con i found whilst playing this mod...

Pros
- Very unique story - Some of the aspects i'd never seen before so well done there
- Different monsters - Loved some of the monsters in the mod especially the dog which was very scary
- Choice of ending - Offers a nice variation which some do not
- Maps - Very detailed and looked nice
- FrameRate - flowed pretty much flawlessly throughout my time playing the mod

Cons
- The Dog section - It took me a seriously long amount of time what to do here (in the end i ended up on youtube) so perhaps a little more instruction could be used and also the howling of the dog shouldn't be constant like it was

Overall this is certainly one of the better mods on the site and if you're reading this thinking about downloading, just do it. It has a nice length to it and gives you one or two well planned scares along the way :)

As i said above i wanted to give a 10 for large parts of the mod but the dog section let it down to a 9 but in all fairness it's a 9.9 :D

I did say i would play it again at a later date and i have and once again could not finish the mod. Very frustrating. The review is basically just going to be a rant at the problems what i found with this so if you come to make another custom story you can avoid these...

- As i mentioned before being able to use the key on the outside of the door is just stupid and kills the mod
- Once you're on the right side of the door and have it locked, trying to get to sleep is near impossible. Make it easier rather than jumping into the bed
- The sound effects. DEAR GOD! What were you thinking with some of them? A constant elephants wail does not make for a good atmosphere and i had to play on mute for some of the story because it was endless!
- The monsters are in ridiculous places such as moving the mat which can't be done without dying and the constant spawning monster when you have to drink the blood of the subject.
- The elevator machine bugged for me i had the cogs and the coal in there - i even watched it on youtube and did EXACTLY what they did but still mine failed to work

All that can be added is that I thank you for wasting 2 hours of my life and i will not be playing this again. I've had enough of this mod now and i'm just going to watch the rest on youtube to see how it ends. Truth hurts.

Certainly one of the better custom stories on the site. Thoroughly enjoyed playing and i'm really looking forward to the next part. For the review though i'm going to divide it up into the pros and cons of the custom story starting with the pros...

Pros
- Very detailed maps
- Unique and Interesting Story
- Some sections of the maps framerate was exceptional
- No jumpscares around every corner
- Great soundtrack

Cons
- Far too many keys to find
- Rusty keys were hard to see
- The coal section, When i was running with one piece of coal the grunt killed me in one hit and the chunk of coal fell out the map so i had to restart the custom story so if you can make grunts respawn after they've killed you, coal should be able to as well
- Some sections of the map were incredibly laggy

So to some up what i've already said i thought this was a very good custom story that with a few tweaks here and there will be number 1 on the site without a doubt!

(P.S i also thought you could have done developed the pewdiepie reference slightly more - not the extent where it becomes stupid like some CS on this site but perhaps ONE poofer or something)

One of the greatest custom stories on this site to date. I thoroughly enjoyed this custom story and it really accomplished all that was said in the description. I loved the fact it was just a story which allowed me as a player to get more involved into the characters and there relationships which you don't find at all on this site. The voice actors were fantastic and really put across the emotion of the characters which made it even more believable!

You would have got a 10 but i'm afraid to say that i did fall through the map twice when i was outside which was a shame however it takes nothing away from the general feel of the story.

It was OK - nothing more, nothing less really. I did like the idea of the story however the maps themselves were kind of poorly built - during the water monster section i just walked through a wall and in my opinion there should be some Health potion at the bottom when you fall down the well because you just take a unnecessary death. I liked the idea again of the two choice ending however it turn out there was only one real option which was a shame!!

Overall it's a decent map with some nice puzzles and it did pass the time however i would make the request you just spend a little longer tweaking with the maps to avoid the problems
