I am LizardGamer(also known as Alyx or Alexander) I was born in Australia, I love all types of videos games, I am even creating my own Game Engine which is going to be very similar to some modern day engines used by developers. I have done modeling, a little bit of programming and I beta test games. ::: Some games are pieces of art, sometimes they don't always have beautiful looks, but they have a meaning for people to have fun with and play. ::::

Use a programming language of your choice and program the vital parts of the game. For example...Audio, Graphics, Physics, Scripting(if your wanting to use a scripting language) etc.

This can be a difficult process, depending on what language you're using. Most commonly engines are made of C, C++, C# or any other type of popular language.

Custom-built is not an actual engine.

Its developers personal engine that they have custom built themselves.

You should really read the summary first!

Because Valve/Steam doesn't allow open source games because then the creator of the game would have to release the Steam SDK with it, which Valve don't want to do.

I'm just saying but wouldn't Garry's Mod be considered a mod since it relies on Half Life 2? And everyone buys that!
