I would correct this sentence a litte bit:

We only pursue one goal.
SURVIVAL! (Not SURVIVE)

Also this whole monologue, especially with the voice over in the teaser is somewhat cheesy. Maybe it should be a little more subtle.

Otherwise very cool concept and visuals! Good luck

Go indie. PLEASE

Cause simply the concept and visuals are worth it and you will reach a much wider audience!

Also, please dont overdo it with the shooting. A game does not have to be all about fun traditional game-mechanics like shooting, leave it in some passages when it makes sense within the world and dont be shy to make an exploration / adventure game that focuses primarly on story and feeling. And dont waste your time with pointless multiplayer-modes!

Take Call of Cthulhu for example, in the first half of the game you have a feeling that you are "doing something" and being part of the world, but since the refinery-level the game turns into a mindless standart-shooter and looses almost all of its fascination and overall feel!

When a mod gets commercial, its because it CAN! Because its good enough. Getting commercial is a proof of quality, otherwise valve wouldnt gave them the license.

Funny how some douchebags argue that because DE dont fit their taste or simply cause they dont understand it, it has no right to be sold. You know what, I hate CoD BO, the story isnt complex enough, the gameplay mechanics are old and I hate war, it HAS NO RIGHT TO EXIST.

People buying it on Steam = sure more than 5000

Conclusion: **** the first

One thing these idiots here dont seem to understand: The Gaming community does not completely consist of Moddb members, most people who see this on steam never heard of this project and dont give a **** about this formerly intended to be free or not. AND everybody can still play the original for free

You havent paid anything yet and still can play the old version for free, so whats your ******* problem?

Its THEIR WORK and they can do whatever they want to do with it! When they have the opportunity to reach a much bigger audience with their project wich leads to proper reward, more fans and more awareness of their studio in the industry, WHY THE **** should they bother about some whining kids here on moddb. When they earn money for they work, they will be able to produce more games with more production value wich leads to more experimental gamedesign in times of Call of duty, wich is good!

All this whinery is so pathetic its getting more funny than sad

Selling it on Steam reaches a much wider audience wich generates much more reward than some donates by moralizer nerds like you that gather here on moddb.

What an horror to track a mod and then it gets a game, so many wasted excitment wich could have been used in getting a life XD

So, The Graveyard is a good game but not a good commercial product? So good games can be bad commercial products wich makes them bad in some way and good commercial products dont need to be good games? Tale of tales is good cause they said the will sell their game but chinese room is bad cause they first made a mod and then got the license to sell it?

Excuse me, but you are an idiot!

And chinese room didnt tell us if it will be commercial cause they didnt knew if it will, read their posts!

Yes, a nicely desgined world (good design =/= good graphics) that can be explored with many details that mean something. DE has it!

@Rawket

You are not critical, you just have a totally narrow view on games as a medium. You think that games need to be games, need to be fun or challenging, wich is WRONG. Games can be entertaining without being challenging or fun just like books or movies but interactive, DE proofs it cause there are a lot of gamers who enjoy it despite not being a traditional game! Thats why you have no idea what you are talking about and why you should **** off and play Call of duty!

The story is ambiguous, you cannot really spoil it. And noone cares for the technical side, its just the feel and the beautiful landscapes together with the story that creates the mood wich makes this game so great.

And yes, someone please ban this annoying troll!

Games dont need to have a challenge since we are gladly not in the 80s anymore, this is just about the story, the atmosphere and exploring!

Thats what this game makes so outstanding, that it isnt a "game" but an interactive experience!

There are enough puzzles and action-scenes in the mainstream...

Man its soo pathetic how all this kiddies here are behaving!

A great and under artistic aspects important game is going to get a MUCH wider audience with a maybe 4 bucks release on steam, talented developers are getting rewarded for the tons of work the put in, but OH, I WANT EVERTHING FOR FREE, GETTING MONEY FOR HARD WORK IS CAPITALISTIC SATANISM!

Yeah, Pinchbeck was planning this all along, getting the few people here on Moddb (compared to all gamers who buy on steam this is nothing) excited to something they already are excited over to make millions of dollars.

Guess what, Dan Pinchbeck doesnt exist, its an alias for Bobby Kotick seeking to destroy this last refuge for people who work for free for the sake of working free!

Seeing this ridicilous flame war here reminds me of why I totally turned my back to the modding community. And everybody who seriosly says he cant afford 4 bucks for a game maybe should consider getting a job. Oh, wait, I forgot, working for money makes you a bad person
