In this adventure, you are Robert Muldoon, the person in charge of the safety of the park. The game will proceed in a relatively linear but intense way with Resident Evil inspired management of the stress.
Because of obvious reasons, we won't give out lots of details about the storyline, but it will have enough surprises to provide bunch of action and also situations that require reflection.
We allowed ourselves to change and include some miscellaneous new things compared to the original story, in order to intensify the gaming experience; we looked at the gaming aspect and at the same time worked on make the levels, characters, events recognizable... make parallels between the original storyline and the modification one, and get the feeling of reviving some movies moments.
Actually it will be like a side story which includes several scenes from the original film. The story plays out at the timeframe seen in the first movie.
Biotechnology society InGen, created and lead by the rich american John Parker Hammond, built a park on a Costa Rican bay island, Isla Nublar, called "Jurassic park". This park is somewhat special as it allows fortunate people to see real live dinosaurs, created from a combination of genetic manipulations and dinosaur blood found in fossilized amber.
Due to recent incidents in the park, InGen investors start to worry, and demand that the park calls in specialists before it's opened to the public. Thus, after long negotiations, paleontologist Alan Grant, paleobotanist Ellie Sattler and mathematician Ian Malcolm are sent to the island for the week end, with lawyer Donald Gennaro, who represents Hammond investors, in order to investigate the incidents. The visit starts out well, park systems work fine so far and everybody is amazed by seeing the first dinosaurs. Robert Muldoon (you!!) is checking the park an system security...
But some unexpected things are happening in the meantime: InGen's biggest competitor, Biosyn industries, wishes to obtain Hammonds technology; Biosyn's main advisor Lewis Dogson contacts the extremely qualified programmer Dennis Nedry, who programmed the entire Jurassic Park system, and gives him an opportunity: in exchange of a huge amount of money, Nedry would steal a few InGen's embryo and deliver these to Biosyn. Unfortunately, Nedry decides to start his business this week-end.
Furthermore, a violent tropical storm moves over the island, power is lost, visitors are stuck and the dinosaurs start to escape from their enclosures...

Greetings everyone!
So almost a year has passed since our last news post and certainly we owe you an explanation. But as that would be to boring and long to read we move on over to the news :)
What you will see it the fruit of collaboration between several member this year. We finished the explorer, drivable, and new weapons, usable, like the machete and SPAS12 which has been redone. We also advanced a lot with NPC, our character models, Nedry and Hammond are still in progress but have advanced much more and are included in the game.
New fauna has been added, birds, insects, crocodiles, and, of course, many new dinosaurs, animated, and hostiles.
We are also working on a whole new AI for dinosaurs, so the most clever of them will patiently hide so he can ambush you when you feel safe. All levels have been greatly improved, with better lights, better design to enhance your experience. Optimizations have naturally also been done to, in fact they take up a lot of the mappers time as each individual object has to be addressed and given the properties to give the smallest amount of mark on the performance while still looking good.
One of our dearest member is releasing the MESA (Maya Exporter for Source Absolute), which is a script that improves the valve's one used to export models and animation from Autodesk Maya to Valve's source² for the newer versions of Maya. This contribution should help a lot of people in the modding community with an incredible workflow of one effective click import to source. It's still being enhanced, but it's already a great tool for all modders working on Maya. Some of our members in JL make use of it already of course.
We mainly need a coder/programer to help on AI, and unique features of Jurassic Life that need improvements (inventory, climate change...). We could use an helping hand from yet another modeler so if you are interested contact us via the forum. Make sure you do have the skills we request. Good modeling knowledge and knowledge of Zbrush or Mudbox for example. Rigging and animation skills for Source is a large plus. Knowledge of exporting to Source is preferred. We could also use the help of someone who knows well the choreography tool.
Open request about Source engine error: Maybe someone in the community can help us out with a problem we encountered recently. When using the flashlight that casts dynamic shadows we get a crash in one of the levels in a certain area. When setting shadow settings to medium the bug is gone. Seems related to flashlight in other words. “To many vertex for a dynamic vertex buffer (number value)>(number value) Tell a programmer to up VERTEX_BUFFER_SIZE“ is the error. It could actually be hardware related as only 1 of us gets it it seems (still needs verification).

Is it dead?
Looks like Aliens meets Turok sort of deal, keep up the good work ;)
Hope this comes out soon....why the delay?I had read somewhere it will come out in Feb 2013 or some time close....
I've been tracking this mod for about four years. I'm eager as well, something as paramount and actually sound in execution of a Jurassic Park game has not been seen since the likes of Trespasser. These people are dedicated but they also have a high attention to detail; if Black Mesa has shown anything, it is that you cannot rush perfection.
All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland, nothing worked. :)

I see...nice one :P
Hey there I was messaged and told to post here. Im interested in helping with some code if you are still looking.
