self-entitled? i'm sorry, but if you didn't catch this, i have absolutely no interest in any future releases of republic at war. this mod can't go anywhere without a modeler, something it has lacked since the disappearance of z3r0x.
what i am, is someone who fully realizes the amount of work that goes into a mod and the kind of dedication it requires. i also realize that if i made a clone wars mod with an extreme lack of content it would not take me 6 years to create, and i work 30 hours a week and go to school 30 hours a week. and assuming i did spend the 6 years, finally complete the mod, and release it, i know that if i was granted accolades and fame and titles due to my dedicated fanbase i would at least say, hey sorry, but i just simply don't have the time or dedication to continue with this.
that much this team owes the fans. that's all i'm saying. that's not self-entitlement, its common sense. without a full-time modeler a total conversion mod cannot be completed. until they gain someone who can model, and i dont even think there is anyone that's still active that models infantry that would have the time for this anyway, this mod simply can't be completed. these are the facts.
with what modeler
lmao. i've been around here for a long time, probably a much longer time than the two of you. someone who makes anything for consumers does owe something to their consumers. this mod would be nothing without the people that play it. a mod that took over 5 years to develop should have been a lot better than RaW was. the word "obligation" implies that there is no written contract between makers and consumers, don't act condescending unless you know what you're talking about.
they do it in their free time, by choice, because they enjoy the reception they get and the work that they do. this mod has consistently been one of if not the most popular mod on this website and there hasn't been any content updates for 4 years. when you develop a mod, you are taking on the responsibility of a fan base. for whatever reason, all of these folks don't care that the developers aren't in contact with them.
i certainly would, but i was disappointed with the initial release of republic at war in 2011, and stopped following it. but honestly, i'd like to see this mod continue in some fashion so long as z3r0x isnt involved, unfortunately that probably won't happen.
it'd be really nice if the mod team that has a ridiculous, unrealistic amount of dedicated followers would actually show the appreciation to tell them what's going on in the mod team. with nobody consistently making models, this mod is dead. so assuming z3r0x will never return and warb null isn't going to do it constantly we can conclude that republic at war will never see another release.
imo, you have a certain responsibility to stay in contact with the fans of your mod and that just hasn't happened.
move that file to your desktop and try to launch the game again, if that doesn't work put it back in the xml folder and fully reinstall it. if all else fails pm me
lol nice photoshop
How the blithering hell is resizing a few units equal to re-doing the whole game? could call it, Forces of Corruption:Re-scale
if you need any help modding, feel free to pm me. looks like you've got the basics down but you might draw more attention if you put in some new units or something. its good though that for your first mod you're not trying to get up in the big leagues though, a lot of people make that mistake. i did, 5 or 6 years ago, lol.
i've seen it called that very few places outside of FOC
you could change the name of the mastertext located in the text folder of the mod to fix that issue
Looks wicked. possibly my favourite model i've seen out of you, which says something.
yeah it looks like a 128x128 texture or something.
Absolutely no way in hell Republic at War deserves this. That mod has had no significant news come out of it since their bug patch, which came out last year. Not to mention the mod was released 3 years ago, and since has not had anything added to it. The creator of the mod, z3r0x, hasn't been around for at least a year. Forces of Corruption has had a lot of good mods in the past, Republic at War being one, but it's not alone as a "masterpiece of modding".
I suppose this is a popularity award, though.
Don't think anything tops the Huey.
you aren't the first person to do this successfully you know
Wouldn't be hard at all. If you message me about it when the mod comes out I could help you with that.
It's a pretty old mod for FoC with a lot of content for modders to use pretty sure most of the stuff in it was free to use for anyone.
might wanna change the scale of them and get seperate textures
i have absolutely no idea why someone would make a TC mod like this without having modelling experience and seemingly no experience besides making maps. I've been modding for 5 years and I still can't make high-quality models.
you'd want the battlefront commander demo, the 1.01 patch, and i'd highly recommend getting the map pack provided.
he means the corporate addon mod.. which you don't need.
They all wore black armour. Dubbed the "boys in black" by Delta for a reason.
... you need foc to play an foc mod yes
Are you a ******* idiot?
you probably have raw installed
unzip and drag to mods folder then use the mod launcher for foc to boot it up.
"No unit requests.I reserve the right to write back an angry response or flat out ignore you."
because everyone loves battlefront.
This mod looks ridiculously high-quality. Something I'd expect to see from the 2007 or 2008 modding community for FoC, really. Great work so far.
