A group of stalkers, for the first time, reaches the very heart of the Zone-the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant-and triggers a cataclysm on the brink of a catastrophe. An immense blast of anomalous energy transforms the Zone: the once reliable and relatively safe roads are no longer so, the landscape is wiped clean by outbursts of anomalies, and previously unknown areas appear on the Zone map. Stalkers and expeditions perish or end up isolated within the lost territories.

Yestarday we started a closed testing of Dead Sky on the new engine Advanced X-ray on our discord server.
I decided to also inform others on Moddb about it because not everyone have account on discord or are not on the server :)
If anyone are interested in testing - this is everything you must know:
1. To get access to closed testing:
• You can message me on discord privately or on the server
• You can write a comment under this article. I will then write privately to person who posted a comment
• You can write to me privately on Moddb
2. About the Alpha build of Dead Sky:
• because we moved it on Advanced X-ray - it means that the mod is not fully finished. Not only that, we didnt ported all the files from the old build. Build its not so big, there arent any bigger changes like new mechanics, balance, weapons, armors and other stuff we wanted to add or modify
• Build is standalone and it weights about 7GB
• Build will be getting updates
• Engine stuff and options are in English and Russian language

I like how little noise there is in the modding scene for this game. Sure one cannot really compare the 'Clear Sky' to other 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.' games released thusfar when it comes to modding popularity, but looking up the 'Clear Sky' just here on the 'modDB' I have found exactly the kinds of mods I was looking for. I also think the 'Sky Reclamation Project' is the most readable and transparent looking of all the "Reclamation Projects" for 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.' games out there.
It's the only one that's necessary. I normally don't like recommending mods for first timers but CS is extremely buggy even to this day and SRP does a very good job cleaning it all up.
As for the rest of the series: ZRP is well and good but SoC 1.0006 is pretty clean compared to it's first release so ZRP isn't a necessity at all. Finally, the CoP equivalent is so unnecessary that I don't even remember the name of it.
Right now I am doing my second playthrough of 'Clear Sky' with 'Sky Reclamation Project' added. I tend to think of this game as having the best game mechanics in the series.
