In MekArcade you get to pilot a giant war machine in the 37th century, and experience all the explosive, multi-pilot, online actions you can ever want. It is an expansion pack to the Cube Engine game, Red Eclipse. The 0.50 release is due in July 2013 and will be fully functional, including single pilot and multi-pilot missions, that can be played locally, online or over a LAN. Intelligent bots can join in both multiplayer and single pilot missions. There are a wide range of mission types and mutators for those missions. In addition the game has the amazing Cube engine map editor, that makes map making a breeze and even lets you edit maps cooperativly, online with your friends. That is always amazing. We look forward to joining you in battle later in the year.

Sometimes I feel as if we are moving with glacial speed towards a release. But big things are happening.

Our major delay is beacuse we are currently implementing a full dynamic lighting system (from Tesserect). At the moment the Cube2 engine only does players and NPC with dyanamic lights. If Tesserect works as planned then you will have moving shadows from animated trees, shadows of falling buildings will fall etc. It should give a big leap in the eye candy aspects. I sort of hope MekArcade will become a showcase for Tesseract.

In other news, we have a new Mek, known as Mek #6. I'm pretty happy with this one, except perhaps the name. I've posted an image in the gallery.

I never played Front Mission but I have seen pictures of Wanzers, to my eye they look like like typical Japanese meka, albeit with a heavy look, not quite the Gundam fighter jets with legs look. We are interested in 'different' looks, partly to avoid IP issues and partly for fun. Love to here peoples suggestions or see designs.

Look you could make something like mech and wanzer like... Front Mission is better then mechwarrior series, even thought some wanzers had similar mechwarrior felling...

Mech is a mech... Make kinda unique look...

Like wanzer like mech infrantry and heavy infrantry would be kinda mechwarrior...

Just I dont want to see 300m tall mech... Thats stupid.
