Faction 5: Corporate Sector Authority
---
The Corporate Sector was formed hundreds of years ago as an attempt to create a space for corporations to operate free of the burdensome regulations and oversight of the Republic. The region of space was composed of the Tingel Arm in the Outer Rim, and comprised of a mere few hundred systems. During the Clone Wars, many of the powerful companies that owned space in the sector pledged their support to the CIS. As a result, the end of the war saw a sharp consolidation of the corporations that had governing interests in the Sector, with most being nationalized by the Empire or acquired by loyal organizations such as the Tagge Company. Many Confederate military assets were purchased by these companies as part of their negotiations with the Empire.
The elimination of competition led to a renaissance of sort for the Sector, during which it expanded rapidly and became ever more profitable. To better administrate this territory, the Corporate Sector Authority was chartered. The CSA had remained nominally aligned with the Empire for the duration of the Galactic Civil War, but in the wake of the devastating Imperial loss at Endor, the CSA board of directors determined that they were free to enrich themselves by selling materiel, arms, and munitions to all sides.
