Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
Among the first large ships used by the Rebellion, the MC75 Star Cruisers were crucial to the survival of the Rebel Alliance. While they would eventually be overshadowed by the more standard and ubiquitous MC80 Star Cruisers, the MC75s provided vital experience to Alliance ship engineers that would later be used for later MC80 designs, including Home One. They also participated in some of the Rebellion's most desperate battles, including in the battle to recover the Death Star plans. While many were destroyed years ago, the survivors continue to serve in the Rebel Fleet during the Interregnum.
The MC75 used in the mod is the Ordnance Cruiser variant, and will be replacing the MC80A in the Rebel Capitalship roster. Both ships feature heavy proton torpedo armament and unusually fast engines, and there is no doubt the MC75 is a better looking and now iconic design. It's abilities will be slightly tweaked but the focus on hit and run tactics will remain.
As a new addition, the MC75 will be the figurehead of the "Mon Calamari visual overhaul" that will go out in Alpha 3.4. Almost all of the Rebel Mon Calamari models currently in the mod (safe a few that already looked quite good) have been cleaned up and enhanced by Dolynick, also known for the Star Gate races and Sins Remastered mods. I'm pleased to announce he is now a full member of the Interregnum mod team.
Full credit to Warb_Null as the original creator of this MC75 model, with rigging and tweaks done by Dolynick and ERock72.
What will happen to MC75?
You mean MC80A? The MC75 is being added.
Oh yeah... correction:
What will happen to MC80A?
It is being retired. So I guess its getting sent to Raxus Prime.
hmmm... Will the MC75 have a 'lauch A-Wings' ability, because i found that really useful with the MC80A
Wait, is the MC80A the one with the wings? I love that one. It looks so cool. :(
The MC80 Liberty (the one with the wings) is still there. The MC80A was a bit of an oddball spud with thrusters mid-body ventral and dorsal.
Ah, ok. I must be mis-remembering names from the Thrawns Revenge mod for EaW. I figured you guys wouldn't remove such an iconic ship, but wasn't sure. :P
By being sent to Raxus, does that mean if you capture that kind of planet, you can build it then?
Hay papi!! I can feel the powa!
Very nice, looking forward to the next update for the minor factions dlc!
Looks nice but I'd argue the MC80 variant with the wings is more iconic.
The winged MC80 variant (Liberty-type) is still in the mod as a capital ship on the Rebel roster. The MC75 replaces the MC80A
Looks very good, but i still hate that ship
Good way to add variety other than MC80, MC80, MC80 as the capital ships, because if I remember correctly it was MC80 Winged, MC80 Wingless and MC 80B in the mod right now right?
And the old MC80A (though its going away now), and Home One is technically another MC80 variant. I suppose all Mon Cal ships are said to be unique, but still, definitely a lot of MC80s.
They are arguably more like "patterns" than anything else.
From my poor understanding, MC90s are the first Mon Cal warships that are somewhat standardised...
But yeah, glad to have a new ship! The MC80A looked too similar to the Rebel assault carrier whasitscalled...

Will MC30c frigate get a texture overhaul too?
