Team Sabre Operations is an enhancement mod for Delta Force Black Hawk Down and its Team Sabre expansion. It's meant to fix and improve the stock game's sounds, art style and gameplay. It also provides additional content for map makers in order to expand the original experience.
Team Sabre Operations was previously known as Blaze's DFBHD/TS Mod, released by yours truly in 2015 (Blaze was my nickname back then) and available exclusively at the Nova-Outpost.com website before its official closure.

Features of Delta Force Team Sabre Operations:

  • Custom installer for easier mod installation (a proper installation of DFBHD/TS is required); mod files do not override any of the stock game files, they are separate to ensure that the original DFBHD/TS game and its multiplayer are intact.
  • Fully converted all additional multiplayer maps from the Xbox version of the game; 13 Deathmatch maps (Arena, Boot Camp, Boot Camp X, Burn, Minefield, Park, Site, Trenches, Tunnel, Courtyard, Crash X, Dock X, Island X) and 1 Team Deathmatch map (Siege).
  • Added Team Deathmatch maps converted from the beta demos of the game and using beta assets included in the mod (TDMBD_01 and TDMBD_04 from beta v0.0.1 named City Limits A and City Limits B, TDMM_01c and TDMM_01d from beta v0.0.3 named Night Limits A and Night Limits B).
  • Fixed all stock King of the Hill BHD maps not having a proper name (KOTH was not part of the original game, maps existed for it but they were using the internal filenames, now they are named like their other game modes' counterparts).
  • Removed TKHR_04 map from Team King of the Hill (it was included by mistake by the Team Sabre expansion, it's an older duplicate of Oil Island).
  • Fixed all TS multiplayer maps not having a proper name (TKHR_ts02 has been renamed arbitrarily to Jungle Town as no official name exists for it).
  • Fixed TS Flag Ball maps having incorrect names (B versions were still named A, for instance Oil Island B appeared as Oil Island A).
  • Fixed duplicate TKHR_ts02 map in Team King of the Hill (the duplicate was meant to appear in Team Deathmatch, now it is so).
  • Created B versions of the Ruination and TKHR_ts02 (now called Jungle Town) maps. Fixed flag colors in the Capture the Flag and Flag Ball game modes.
  • Added many new items for map makers, mainly vehicles and buildings converted from Comanche 4, reworked with better textures and/or sounds and data.
  • Added more than 180 different terrains for map makers, all of the terrains from DF1/DF2/DFLW/DFTFD/DFX/DFX2/JO/JOE have been ported and reworked for the DFBHD game engine.
  • Better looking skins for vehicles, weapons, plants, terrains, buildings (using nicer textures from DFBHD's beta version), soldiers (Rangers in the second Team Sabre mission in Colombia finally get woodland camo instead of the stock 3-color desert; SAS teammates in woodland camo for map makers, etc.).
  • Fixed most of the annoying bugs and glitches in single-player missions (any misplaced objects in Team Sabre campaign missions are removed, missing sounds and/or wrong voiceovers are corrected, fixed broken or missing triggers in some missions).
  • Included brand new, exclusive version of Baldo_the_Don's Weapon Sights mod, with tweaked weapon stats and reworked damage values for many items.
  • Included NovaHQ Heartbeat DLL (Alternate Lobby Reporting DLL) to offer basic multiplayer support.
  • Included SuiMachine's wrapper to override FOV and 1280x1024 resolution with custom values.
  • Added different and better animations from later NovaLogic's games in place of stock ones, thus improving some reloading animations of weapons.
  • Added a large array of different sounds to give each weapon more unique sounds (for instance, each light machine gun uses its own reloading sound, like in NovaLogic's Joint Ops).
  • Added an M14 by re-using the M21 3d model, with both weapons using unique skins, sounds and animations.
  • Added MK 23 pistol from the NSO mod with custom tweaks (Team Sabre for the PS2 featured this weapon).
  • Added an AKM rifle with its own stats, sounds and animations (3d model borrowed from the Insurgency mod).
  • Added a playable version of the Weapons Range South mission, included but inactive in stock DFBHD.
  • Added fixed and/or new buildings for missing items (the original Team Sabre expansion lists many map items, some totally missing). What the Mission Editor shows is now available, any missing .3di models have been removed and/or replaced.
  • Much reworked HUD and UI elements, menu screens now using reworked textures based on the ones from the beta version of DFBHD.
  • Restored DFBHD main menu music in place of the one from the Team Sabre expansion.
  • Restored buttons in the Credits screen for viewing DFBHD's Irene and Ending videos.
  • Tons of localization fixes, fixed any grammar errors and misspelled words, reworked missions' briefing data and preview images for more quality and consistency, given brand new custom names to the Team Sabre campaigns and their missions.

Credits:

  • Menrva (skins, mission editing and bug fixes, sound additions, localization and voiceover fixes, terrain conversions from JO/JOE/DFX/DFX2, etc.)
  • Baldo_the_Don (Weapon Sights mod, further exclusive tweaks, help and suggestions)
  • 2DNED aka Blade (terrain conversions from DF2/DFLW/DFTFD, additional terrain graphics, items ported from Comanche 4)
  • deewoody (custom sound files from his sound pack)
  • Daewolfe (custom sound files from his sound pack)
  • Eagle_Eye (conversion of the Chinook .3di model from Joint Ops)
  • TedSmelly (granted permission to use Eagle_Eye's conversion of Joint Ops' Chinook helicopter)
  • Scott Lucht (for the NovaHQ Heartbeat DLL which allows to be play online)
  • SuiMachine (for his DFBHD-Wrapper allowing to play the game with custom video resolution and FOV)
  • NSO mod (few bits borrowed for custom textures, MK 23 pistol)
  • TerraNova-EXP mod (.3di item conversions from Comanche 4)
  • Insurgency mod (.3di item conversions from DFLW, AKM rifle)
  • NovaLogic (terrains from later and earlier Delta Force games)

Here below you'll find a comprehensive list of improvements and additions since the first release:

  • Fully converted all additional multiplayer maps from the Xbox version of the game; 13 Deathmatch maps (Arena, Boot Camp, Boot Camp X, Burn, Minefield, Park, Site, Trenches, Tunnel, Courtyard, Crash X, Dock X, Island X) and 1 Team Deathmatch map (Siege).

  • Fixed all TS multiplayer maps not having a proper name (TKHR_ts02 has been renamed arbitrarily to Night Jungle as no official name exists for it).
  • Created B versions of the Ruination and TKHR_ts02 (now Night Jungle) maps. Fixed flag colors in the Capture the Flag and Flag Ball game modes.

Unfortunately I don't have the Steam version of the game. I tested the mod with the GOG release and with the original physical release.
I can only suggest that you copy the game's folder outside of Steam's folder (preferably outside the Program Files directory), and install the mod on this copied folder and see what happens. You shouldn't be running the game via Steam because Steam might be replacing files that are installed with the mod. So just make a copy of that installed game's folder and use it exclusively for the mod.

Thanks! I don't get as much feedback as with my other mods (I mod other games as well), but I look forward on improving the mod even more over time.
I have a Discord server for this and other mods, it's linked as Homepage in the mod's Profile.

Would it be possible to replace the rifle US Ranger NPCs use with M16A2s? Rather than the CAR-15s that they use in the default game which should only be used by the Deltas.

Could use the weapon model that the 10th Mountain NPCs use.

Also if possible it would be nice to see some friendlies using M60/M249/M240s and M16A2s with M203s. In the PS2 version one of your squad members in some missions has a machinegun.

I know the PS2 version was made by a different developer and is on a different engine though so this may not be possible for the PC version.

Unfortunately no. I'm not a 3d modeler and it's not possible to edit the game's 3d models without ripping or remaking them from scratch. I already had such ideas, but until someone with the knowledge and skills for 3d modelling comes to help, it's unlikely to happen.

How to delete the old version of the mod before installing the new ? Should I uninstall Delta Force Black Hawk Down Team Sabre all together, then reinstall ? Or can I simply delete a few files to remove the mod before installing this updated version ?

The mod comes with its own uninstaller separate from the main game, so I suggest you look for that and use it. If you want to be extra sure, reinstalling the games might be the best, if it doesn't take much time on your end.

I get a program error when trying to launch the game:

This program has caused an access violation exception at 005b27a0h

I installed the mod in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Delta Force Black Hawk Down

Any solutions?

No idea, I don't have the Steam version. To install inside Program Files can cause issues due to how Windows is restrictive about it. I suggest you copy the Delta Force Black Hawk Down folder elsewhere away from it, and then try to install the mod to that copied directory.
