You're wrong, this is the iso file. The file you talk about is another download. Read the download descriptions!
Start game with standard resolution. Standard res can be executed via launching the game with the original game exe file. 1024x768 is very stable. Some missions like mission 12 for example it can be you have to choose 640x480 or 800x600.
Reason is that I exegarrated the limits of what you can do (max units per map) on a single map. Some maps contain 200+ enemy units. This can cause access violation errors on higher resolutions. By the way I can play through all missions with 1400x900 for example and just one / two missions I need to downgrade res to make game more stable... I'm sorry for the inconvenience...

Yeah, exactly that way. Content of the download just needs to be put into your game folder - overriding the original files. Then just start and play / enjoy the game.
The game is freeware. The guide is licensed and you can buy it in the internet. I can just offer my own guide & other guides about MechCommander and present it as a tribute, royalty free content. I'm working on this stuff just for fun since 2016. Before... I just played the original game for almost two decades!
I hope you can live with the articles and content I can offer for free. Sharing licensed stuff is not my style. Same counts for the original prima strategy guide for mechcommander. It's like a licensed book and cant be published or shared / copied by others than their creators cause this has technically nothing to do with the base game or its legal state.
My moddb profile already offers 80 articles about all imaginable ingame stuff and I will extend them and further develop the whole in the future. I will keep it alive.

To be correct: Darkest Hours is the first title. Prometheus is the second title. Both are different builts. Will be. V.5.0 is my total version number for Mechcommander in general.
v1.0 = MC1 Original
v1.8 = MCG Desperate Measures Expansion
v2.0-v4.2 = MCG Darkest Hours
V4.3-v5.0 = MCG Prometheus
To make this clear, once and for all.
v0.1beta is actually v4.3, no darkest hours anymore when Prometheus is complete. I overwrite the dh - DH is just the backbone. Like DM was backbone for DH.

This is a mission that usually crashes, when cheats are used. When you had active cheats on i recommend trying the mission without any cheats and staying a bit under the maximum dropweight loadout. Any higher loadout or cheat on screen will result in a crash.
When NOTHING works - i recommend activating cheats and then "Control + W" the mission in order to go on further. I would please you to send me a full bugreport so that i can have a look on it.
Edit: Trying this mission with a lower resolution may although help. I know there are some issues with the mission, when nothing helps i can upload a replacement that defintely works.

I offer different starting options. You are right, during the development i had chosen an easier start mod but went back to the original cause this should be considered normal difficulty scale. You can customize your built by downloading all starting conditions, using the one you desire - making it ease - or a harder competition.
That is how it should be!

There is a transformer station next to the starting point. Destroy the transformer station and the power supplies in the main base and mission objective will be triggered.
No there are several people with that issues.
If it maybe helps: you can although klick on the minimap on the top left that's what I usually do when I play cause with Win10 I have some fps drops when scrolling, too. By using the klick option on minimap that gets better to control.
I will figure out how to change the camera settings next. If it is possible to adjust camera on a higher level it may not collide with any high terrain anymore.

The revealed terrain is a small issue to campaign builders. I experienced that many origin and customer map creators used different maps than displayed in briefing screen in order to hide things or emulate changes on the battlefield when you are dropped. Those "surprise" effects and many eastereggs would be easy to find then in Darkest Hours for example.

This was made to be put into RiZzen's Darkest Hours 4.2 standalone version. Download that first if you haven't. Original game unnecesary (it's free and legal).
Seems unlikely this will work on the default MechCommander Gold version due to dependencies, but its untested.

May you add your download description with a detailed changelog and WHAT exactly you have changed (new item lists - new unit lists - differences in comparison?).
Would like to assist you forming this into a "thing" for MechCommanders used as optional update or more later.
Please recheck the Gamesys file of its data\mission folders. I found serious issues there on weapon range mod. I recommend comparing the file with my gamesys of optional visual and weapon range mod for widescreen. I have corrected values that got overridden by the weapon mod creators without purpose. I guess they replaced a certain value with another value while modifying ranges and didnt noticed they although override other settings with the same number as value. This alone causes many possible technical problems and issues, leading the game into instability and debug.

One of the reasons i won't implement it to a newer version - just leaving it optionally available. I think a fullversion with this would cause too many complaints.
