You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.

Today, Bloodfall is out (a day early!), the next multiplayer DLC for DOOM. Bloodfall is the third and final DLC pack, bringing three new diverse maps, a Grenade Launcher weapon, the new Cultist armor set, and more to the game’s fast paced multiplayer. You’ll also be able to transform into the Spectre Pinky, a fan favorite demon whose signature invisibility tactic allows you to sneak up on enemy players.

To celebrate the launch of Bloodfall, a Double XP Weekend is also being held from now until Monday, December 19 at 12pm ET. Play the all new multiplayer content and try to level up to the new max rank of Echelon 11, level 50 to unlock the DOOM Marine Armor, part of last week’s Free Update 5 release. In addition to the new DLC content, today also some adjustments were made to multiplayer for all players (regardless of whether or not you own the DLC). Full details below.

Bloodfall includes the following:

3 New Maps

  • Empyrian – Fight in an ageless colosseum held aloft by opposing energies, as the gilded embattlements slowly crumble.

  • Boneyard – Battle in the outer realm of Hell, where the landscape is made entirely of demon flesh, teeth and bone.

  • Outbreak – Engage in intense combat throughout a UAC facility transformed after underworldly science breaks free from containment

New Weapon

  • Grenade Launcher - Use this UAC-banned weapon to bank grenades off walls and deal area damage or use the secondary fire to detonate a smoke grenade to conceal your position from enemies

New Playable Demon

  • Spectre Pinky - As the fast and heavily armored Pinky demon with Spectre abilities, stalk your enemies with invisibility, or bull rush to insta-gib all in your path.

3 New Hack Modules

  • Extra Protection - Gain Extra Armor per Health Pickup
  • Augmented Healing - Gain Extra Health per Health Pickup
  • Glory Sight -Highlight enemies that can be Glory Killed from farther away

New Equipment

Lateral Thrusters - Dodge enemy fire and add a third, mid-air jump with this equipment item that provides short directional boosts to your movement

  • 4 new Cultist themed armor sets
  • 15 new customization patterns and colors

Along with the release of Bloodfall, today we’ve made some improvements to DOOM’s multiplayer (all users will see these changes today, regardless of if you bought the DLC content or not):

  • Fixed an issue with the Combat Shotgun

We resolved an issue where rapid key input caused unusually high shotgun damage. Our previous update (Free Update 5) fixed some instances of this, but we quickly identified that the issue still occurred after the update went live. This should now be fully resolved with this update.

  • Made improvements to matchmaking

In an effort to better aggregate players and make it faster to find a match, we’ve reduced our playlists to two – Team Play and Free-For-All.

  • Team Play
All team-based game modes on all maps (voting enabled).
  • Free-For-All Play
All individual-based game modes on all maps (voting enabled).

With the ability to vote for maps and modes in the lobby and select a different region (for players in low population parts of the world), we feel like this will enable players to find matches more quickly while still offering flexibility in playing popular maps and modes.

Also, don’t forget that with DOOM’s Party Play system, if anyone in your lobby has purchased DLC content, everyone in the lobby has access to those DLC maps. Plus, private matches allow you to start your own completely customized match and invite friends to play along.

Somebody should make a mod where the corpses of fallen demons don't disappear.
Like that mod in Doom 3 called "NitroGore".

I'm finding this game to be a total snoozefest.
I did enjoy the old doom games (years ago ,lol) but this just seems meh.

Maybe it's because i've just finished playing Mafia 3 followed by the Mass Effect games.

All good immersive story driven games.

Playing this seems to involve just bashing in the head/or shooting whatever comes into range then rinse and repeat.

Whatever the story is ,it hasn't grabbed me yet,if any.
Maybe i pressed a key by mistake and missed some exposition at the beginning.

It has those same big textures like the newer Wolfenstein games but at least those games gave you a reason to be running around doing stuff.

Possibly it's one for the hardcore Doom fans or younger folk.

p.s:

and almost zero mods ,very sad.

For those people who really want a story: There's a bunch of iPads lying around with story on it. There is a reason why you're doing stuff. Also you should know, that you're OBVIOUSLY trying to stop someone, who wants to open a portal to hell.

This game is definitely a sequel: Youtube.com

It also sets up a multiverse that ties all the games together.

I'm sorry but Doom 2016 is casualized and consolized **** compared to the first two games. I am very likely to get downvoted for this but I don't care, besides none of the original ID Software members were even involved with making this game, and ID was just another guise of greedy backstabbing Bethesda and Zenimax who sued and unfairly won the Occulus Rift "case", and are making people pay for mods for their games. It doesn't support mods AT ALL, and has a ****** limited map editor. It is the first Doom to be made for consoles first, and it has ****** and goofy demon designs, the cyberdemon looks like a golum with moose antlers. If you downvote me you obviously go against what this site is even for. It gets horribly linear and slaughterfesty towards the end, the map design is very linear, and the monsters act like a pinata of health and ammo which takes away any strategy, and finishers are very cheap and were only put in because they were in Bethesda games such as Skyrim. There is also a checkpoint system *facepalm*.

1. it's not meant to be a strategy game it's more like a time waster (in which there is nothing wrong with time wasters)
2.it's your opinion that the demons are goofy so i've nothing to say
3.bethesda publishes it and id creates it. (why can't anyone understand that?)
4.i do agree that there should've been a better map creator and that the snapmap was indeed utter ****
5.how is it the games fault the it released on consoles first? and even hell what's wrong with that?
6.wasn't doom always a slaughter fest? (and to me the original dooms where just linear levels with big arenas and hidden secrets like this game)
7.having to restart the levels in doom could get very frustrating and for a time waster and a game to calm the nerves that wouldn't be the best thing to include...

Only Plutonia was a slaughterfest, and the original Doom's had traps with many demons but they weren't really slaughter fests nor did they have many giant arenas. No, the level design was non-linear only the exits from levels which don't have secret levels are linear. Of course Bethesda is the publisher but they put their influence in games too, they did ask them to add specific things to the game. It is the first Doom to be made with consoles in mind, of course it affects the PC version they aim for the lowest common denominator in order to make more money with less extra development costs, the console versions hold back the PC version. "having to restart the levels in doom could get very frustrating and for a time waster and a game to calm the nerves that wouldn't be the best thing to include" So you're saying it should be ****-easy and have no challenge whatsoever? Doom wasn't supposed to be as casual as games today, it was a bit casual for its time but not in a ****-easy way. Git gud man.

I.imgur.com Yeah, deffs linear. </sarcasm>

DooM 2016 is a great, oldschool, fast-paced shooter that makes CoD players shit themselves. After the initial hype I started to doubt this game might be any good, first few levels were descent, but nothing more and included annoying FPS cliches such as "prevent the reactor meltdown!", but once the Doomguy goes to Hell, shit gets real! New design on emons is simply perfect, I also love how every single enemy has its own role during battle, attacks and actions. From fast and agile Imps, through flying…
