Hey! I read your review, and i have some explaining to do:
The first map is really short and has seemingly no purpose because it wasn't planned at all and was just slapped on at the end. I didn't want the game to instantly start inside tha cave, even though that was the first map i worked on, so I just added this short introduction.
As for the retextures, the hands look weird because the HEV suit hands have a very small resolution texture for the glove, so I just made it pure black so it looks like a regular glove somewhat. What I had in mind for the houndeye were headless dog mummies, as I couldnt come up with anything better, hell, the mod could have gone better without them.
The stealth section was using triggers, under which you had to crouch to not get shot. I swear I updated the map to remove your weapons when you enter the area tho.. I must have messed something up there. I really wanted to make a training map, which I might make later, but for now I just made a dummy level to tell you there isn't one, as I'm preparing for a long trip and wanted to push the mod out before it.
You mentioned some of Kasperg's creations, but honestly I had no idea those mods existed! Most of the textures were either original or pulled from official counter strike maps, same with the scream!
Oh, I almost forgot, the swinging balls did push me off when testing, so idk why it didn't work on your side, but I blame it a bit on the engine, as pendulums seem to have a mind of their own.

No problem. Like I said, even with some issues it's still a fun mod. I'm surprised you've never heard of Kasbperg's mods, I guess you two were just thinking alike, I'll edit my review about it. If you're planning on continuing the mod or decide to work on something new, I'm here to help.

Are there any Half-Life mods that you feel like should get a proper Redux or remaster?
And I mean like a proper do-over like Afraid of Monsters DC, not like those Remods (while I think their effort is admirable and they do actually try to improve some issues with the respective mods they're based off, I wish the HD content was optional).
My favorites are and always will be older mods / mappacks that are naturally rough around the edges, so nearly every such mod would deserve a proper remaster. Something that fixes bugs, polishes up the geometry slightly etc. That said, I wouldn't say any mod or mappack requires a remaster. I enjoy them as they are.
But if someone held a gun to my head and forced my to pick, I'd pick Help Wanted, Cthulhu, Nuclear Winter and Route City.
Since you've said what your favourite STALKER mods are, what are your favourite Half-Life mods?
Hard to say, I like so many of them. I know for a fact that these four would make it into that list though:
- Hazardous Course
- They Hunger
- Deliverance
- Heart of Evil
