When a game crashes for the first time, I ignore it and launch it again. After crashing for the tenth time, I uninstall it and never use it again.
Basically what I do. I'll ignore the first few crashes, but if it continues, or hogs the CPU i'll give up and never look back
Well, I usually try to report it to the devs, but e.g. Savage 2 has so many crashes and the dev team doesn't seem to be much around (especially to listen to anybody), so I just ignore crashes.
And believe me, there was and are a lot of them. O.o Don't remember a launch w/o any crashes. But the game is too good to give up. = /
No other game crashes, at least very rarely if so.
I have never encountered any crash in Savage 2 in my life :O
the same goes here as well.
Well if I really want to play a particularly game, I usually look for fixes over the internet and report such cases to developers, helping this way the game itself.
eh everything crashes with me, but its not the game, its faulty graphics cards in SLI formation....
Hammer likes to crash all the time for me.
It depends...if it's the first time it could be something running in the background of my PC (firewall, anti virus etc).
I hate it though when it happens all the time.
Just restart it first or even second time it crashed.
If it crashed again, I try to find a solution in the Internet (it's improbable that I'm only loser in the world encountering that problem :)) or fix it by myself.
If it STILL crashes, I curse devs, uninstall this stupid software and never use it again. :)
I usually just restart unless it keeps happening then I google for a solution and go from there.
Yeah, pretty much.
Before tha latest patch for Killing Floor, the game crashed almost everytime i started playing, so i restarted it. Seven times each day before i gave up and ranted like a kid on the forums.
Ignore the crash for a couple of times. Then I'll try to fix it. If it still crashes after "reasonable" effort, I won't bother with the app.
i just wait for next game update/patch but still trying to avoid place where game crashes while playing it again
I will only take action if it's persistant and reproducable.
When a crash happen, and I can find and even trigger it by choice, I report it. Often I cant find the real cause and those are so odd.
Replay for cheesemoo0
Do it crash like X min after u started it?
Had that problem in some games on XP, But for me the solution was to take the time, and when i got how long before crash:
Just play the game for less then the time, save (if enable all the time) and restart and play again.
If it's a game i like a lot,i desperately try to solve it by myself, using Google, asking on forums, asking on sites for answers and if i don't make it,i keep the game hoping there is luck with it later, but if still in a long amount of time nothing can be done i give up. :(
lol, if everybody use the crash-game never again, windows would be bankrubt :D
First off , I never "Uninstall and never use it again"
If it crashes the first time , I ignore and restart , if it continues I try to figure out why then I try to fix it , or if I can't fix it , I try to avoid it as I can.
So far There is no game (that crashes or doesn't work) that I didn't put a solution for .
The only game that I have not Fixed though , is Team Fortress 2 :[
But use precautions to avoid the crashes so I'm good.
Have you ever played on a scripting/cheating server in HL2DM? We crash all the time. But reporting them to VALVe all the time would be quite odd.
But while testing, I always report to the devs if I know what could be the mistake.
But sometimes I simply reinstall the game.
Thug 2 crashed on me a few times, but it was my comps fault not the programs, since i pressed the windows key while the game was loading, and that caused it crash and burn. I really should stop doing that, but its in the worst place on my keyboard, perhaps i shall remove the key!
I had a crash with Call of duty 4, I desparatly googeld the problem and tried varius things, then i checked it on youtube... then a youtube-guy told me to plugg in the microphone.. AND IT WORKED!!!!
Lol, Sounds very wierd.
But i know how odd, some bugs are.
Since these days crashes are mostly caused by windows doing something at a time that doesn't please the program, or the program gets over a specific non-coded limit, it crashes, I just restart as the chances of it happening again are almost null. If it does, and at the same part, it's the devs fault, I just report.
Also, people should stop mistaking crashes for temporary freezes. When steam freeze when opening a game, just give it 2 minutes before control+alt+del'ing.
I ignore it when it's the first or second crash, but if it's the same error more then twice (or the first time of a big error like missing file or corrupt file) I try to find the problem and fix it.
I ignore it the first few times, then if it continues i ask one of my to uber-techy brothers to help me.
What i do :
When a game crashes for the first time, I ignore it and launch it again, if game not launch i try to work with crash report, if it still crashes unistall it or find information how it fix in internet.
If it's a random crash, that could have been any program, then I just restart. If the program continues to crash when I do some specific action, then I avoid doing that and possibly report the bug to the developer. If the program crashes without much visible reason, then I'll look for solutions from internet, maybe report the bug..
I got these random no reason crashes when playing Dead Space, nothing really worked what was said in net.. so I ignored and restarted. I also felt a bit ****** off, because there were no patches for the game that would have fixed it.
My xbocks 360 crashes more often than my PC. True story.
Yuup i know what you mean.
If it happens almost always, I will try to find out how to fix it. One crash does not matter.
Mac. I win.
xD
Other.... when the game crashes i just ignore it... but if that gets repeated like 5 times in a day i say it to the developers or i just uninstall the fu***** game and never see it or just upgrade something or downgrade it like lots of times... (i don't know why when i downgrade something it works better)
half life 2 crashes alot but i just keep restarting it same with postal 2 garrys mod etc.
Attempt to read the log file and disassemble into the address of where the fault occurred. Of course this really only applies to Access Violations and such, but it never hurts to look.
For other things, like UnrealScript faults, I will look into what it says. Generic windows error, look into logs or lower graphics.
Anyone notice fallout 3 crashes alot but i dont throw it out:D
what I do is restart it. If it crashes again a few times more, I'll use Google to find what's the matter with it and find any possible solutions
I swear and restart the game/application.
If it happens again, I swear even louder and restart it, and if it happens a third time I'll see if the game is worth a surf in the net for a solution :P
If anything ever crashes, I rage about it, blame my crap pc, tell my friends and I restart.
Soon after I tell my IRL friends if I get angry enough.
If it crashes, I restart it. If it crashes again, I try to figure out what the **** I broke, fix it, and restart. After that I proceed to throw the CD case (often with the CD inside) across the room and back.
Steam games/mods get uninstalled, since you can't throw those about unless of course you buy retail, not online.
Other: If it keeps crashing due to the same issue, id uninstall.
Depends on the game. I'm still working my way through fallout 3 in an attempt to find as much exploration as i possibly can, even though my HD has slowed down, crashing the game every once in a while
One crash may be just a coincidence, if it happens twice it isn't and I try to fix it
Personally I just RAAAAGE
my second answer is....if the application doesnt wanna start it anymore...uninstall and reinstall it and restart...
Usually I ignore it. If it happens multiple times in a row, I restart the computer. If all else fails I google the problem. (Or reinstall the game, and pray for the best)
(Other)
Try to figure it out and then report it, if there is a simple option,
I do not report if:
- I have to register
- They want my e-mail
- Or else personal data
- A Application sends the report
- I can't see what data are send
- I is to complicated to find contact details on the website
- The application takes down my entire system (this makes me angry!)
I recently had yet another crash- i was playing Freedom, and i saved my game while in a club- and the game crashed, i restarted went to load my file thinking it would load last save before the crash- and it said file does not exist- lols it deleted my file- i was like wtf
