Sooooo... its been a while.
First of i'd like to explain whats been happening for the past few years.
Back in 2016 when I last posted an update online things were about to change in my life and in addition to all that I was a bit burned out on the whole mod development.
Most of us were still in college when we were actively working on this mod or just starting our first job and because of that we had quite a bit of time to burn on things such as this project.
But as time passed on more real-life responsibilities came, I started playing a MMO for the first time and on top of all that also switched jobs.
It took a while but things have settled down for me now but i still didn't really have any inspiration or motivation to continue with this project until a few weeks ago something changed.
I had a sudden itch to just make a 3D model and texture something so i figured it might as well be something for good old Rise of the Reds in case i'd ever get the spark again to work on it.
What i did not expect after i showed it in our private developer discord that something happened that can only really be described as the band getting back together basically.
Me and Co-Lead Comr4de of the project talked for a long time and we both decided that this project being part of our lives for more than 10 years at this point really want to see it through to what we had original envisioned.
In the coming months we will be focusing on wrapping up our current in development version which does include a few new units and fun tweaks for everyone to enjoy.
With all that said i can say in earnest that we are back in gear, updates might not drop as regularly as they did back in the day but we will try our best to deliver.

So... In development version, are you going to stick with Hanpatch stuff or not really?
Hanfield (the developer of the Hanpatch) himself is actually part of the dev. team now so some things might spill over but not all of it :)
I actually encouraged him to make his own moddb profile as a fork/addon development for ROTR.
Please consider some suggestions made in the comment sections of the images of rise of the reds. I think there is some golden material in there sometimes!
Oh and ... please give Kell his original rifle back to snipe pilots ;p

A lot of content is already planned for 2.0. Trust me, more isn't needed.
And Jarmen Kell won't get his pilot snipe ability.

its good to see you back in action we all hope ROTR gets updated sooooon im so excited for the new updates and i am still enjoying the latest Han patch keep up the goodwork
90+% of the bug fixes, along with some QoL features ported or inspired by it, will be included, but it will not be used as a base. It will be redone from scratch once 1.9 releases so as to eliminate legacy or obsolete code.
That actually sounds like a good plan!
Perhaps also rework some mechanics by design.
I personally felt it felt redundant to have both attack helicopters as well as jump jets as ECA since they funcction so similarly. Maybe its an idea to make a new airfield for ECA by removing 1 deployment pad from the deployment zone and add an actual airstrip to the deployment zone at the spot where the unused deployment pad is so there for eurofighters to land (and be build?)
the jump jet to me feels like a weird helicopter best to be avoided since it constantly circles into enemy fire.
I think the intention was great but somehow the mechanic does not really work strategically
The mechanic works. Tigers and Harriers are used in different ways and excel differently, and the latter is one of the best air units in the game. ECA is designed to have only one production facility for air units and it will remain that way.

If I recall correctly, Tiger was intended to be vanilla CAS aircraft with bonus AA ability, while Harrier was intended to be Fire Support General's Tiger replacement.

I have a Question.
I have seen alot of Vidoes where people ar eplaying Rotr PvP with units i dont have Acess on in the Current Public version.
Dose that mean that these People are using closed Beta Versions of Rotr or
have they implemented 3d Party units?
Some units are from the 1.87 version, others can be from various fan-patches. Can you provide a bit more info on what those units were ?
ok i just searched the wiki and found out that said content is inside the 1.87 version... where can i download that one?
