Here is the news for January 2013, relating to the new upcoming Grand Release patch, 1.71. You will find this patch very pleasing for the release as it will contain many bug fixes, and including but not limited to, new units and other things that are a bit lacking in version 1.7.

Ultimate Apocalypse Version 1.71 News

The Grand Release, version 1.7 is available for download today! It was released December 20th, 2012 and it has proven to meet every bodies expectations so far. The Grand Release however requires a patch and we are very sorry we did not see our mistakes, as little as our team is, but there is a patch coming! The scheduled release for December 20th contains lots of bugs viewable all over the comments section on MOD DB, Relicnews and on our new thread created here. Very appreciated responses of bug finds were posted from all players who left feedback. A new patch will be released to make the promise of our donators, and it is a sign that our long break from the Grand Release is over.

Since the release of version 1.7, the Apocalypse mod team took a long relieving break from the mod and celebrated to its epic event. 1.71 was updated over time, but until recently, the mod leader went back to work and started pumping out the 1.71 patch for its release! 97-99% completed, little things to do, 1.71 is pretty much satisfying for a release. Just to make sure, we are just making some more improvements to it, add in some spiffy touches and hopefully find and cure all bugs possible for release. The 1.71 patch will not be a small patch, as it was worked on for at least 10 days. It is ready to ship off to the team members, and as soon as that happens, they will test everything they can, report bugs, I will fix what they find, and then 1.71 will be released.

1.71 is going to probably be released this week, it is very improved compared to 1.7, and we are also including some new units and maps along with well performed bug fixes! So you will not be disappointed!

If you have not played the Grand Release version 1.7, you are missing out on what you are missing, as it iteself is at very great quality AS IS!!! So download 1.7, leave feedback before 1.71 is released, donate if you would like to and witness the Apocalypse while kicking ass, because who does not want to kick ass? So WTF you waiting for? Download 1.7 today and await 1.71 upon its completion!

explored it all, we love this mod, but not enough anymore to work for free. If donations are applied, it keeps us going, and it gives reason to work on this mod again,
and again, depending on the types of donations and count.

New maps that utilize the new gameplay of Apocalypse would be intense. Though...I have realized that for most of the maps in the game, if you zoom the camera out as far as it goes, the screen gets clouded with fog. Any way to fix this?

That is the faulty game engine issue. It has been thought to redo all maps with all fog, but that'll take forever. It may be available during the Gold Edition, but who knows.

The Sorceror is fixed in 1.71, you have version 1.7!
