Well, I've tried out the Tyranids now, and I am very disappointed, because I thought they would be a lot more complete. Most units seem to lack combat sounds - so combat is very dull; pathfinding is atrocious; textures and animations are bland compared to all the other races; and the units are just terrible (Carnifex' are particularly weak).

I'm just curious, why were Inquisition Daemonhunters and Chaos Daemons not included, but Tyranids are? Considering all the other races feel finished and top quality, playing with Tyranids just feels very frustrating and incomplete. Has support for them ended, or is there any plans to finish this faction?

That being said, thank you for all your hard work on UA mod though, it has revived my old love of Dawn of War; I can't even play DoW II anymore, and I'm shocked that I discovered this mod and it is the best thing to happen to the DoW franchise yet.

Tyranids were actually not of our design, rather the layout of them and actual gameplay. We did not make the Tyranid models, skins, or other art of the Tyranid models besides implementations of new voice overs provided for them.

The Tyranid mod team creates them, and they continue to improve the Tyranid mod and all its content.

The IDH and Daemons were temporarily removed due to the 1.73 version would not already be released yet, and I was doing something special for them anyways once the latest release of the Daemons mod gets established + time for gathering latest installment + apocalyzing both races.

Our apologies for non polished model issues, but there is nothing we can do there.

Thanks for the reply Lord_Cylarne.

I'm highly looking forward to Playing with the apocalypse versions of IDH and Chaos Daemons.

I was only bothered by the Tyranids because they feel very unfinished and buggy, while the rest of the work in this mod feels polished.

Well, as far as graphically, CrossLune created a mini-mod/add-on that replaces the Tyranid models with the ones from DoW2, as well as a few other changes (read the notes). I think it's pretty good. Link below.

Now if only someone could import the associated sounds for the 'Nids from DoW2... :D

So you can't create own new stuff and units for them? The content of this race is the smallest. Will there be a new version tyranids mod with a new version of UA? Or you don't know anything about this?

@JAPIERDOLE2: I would not say that the Tyranid race has the smallest content, when you compare to others like Dark Eldar... but to make completely new models out of something we already have; we are more into making more extreme units, like titans and structures for now, when these units pretty much only require sounds and good looking textures. I'm sold for most animations.

Something to get used to for now I guess until the Tyranid mod team updates. :)

It doesn't seem to me like the try mod team is active. The most recent activity is early 2013. How long does a mod remain inactive before it is recognized as a dead mod? Any aspirations with tyrannical mod improvements seem to be wishful thinking IMO.

@madhatter70: check the news date
Moddb.com
it is in 2014 and although there hasn't been a release in the recent months it doesn't mean a mod is dead. Some race mods have been on the work for years and have not been released yet which obviously doesn't mean they are dead mods. You have to understand this is work being done on free time and not all modders like to do regular updates of their work between releases.

Exactly. Race mods take a very long time to create or recreate. It is also the main reason why 1.74 isn't released yet. The Inquisition and Daemons mods require update after update of fixes AND 3D additions to make mods very polished.

goreignak, Thank you so much for letting me know about that Dow II Tyranid model port to this mod - that's incredible! I gotta try this now!
