Beam failed, Projectile Failed to look good, so I went with a modified shockwave FX. Now the question is: Should the distortion begin big and die off, or begin small and dissipate while growing?

And should the shockwaves be closer together?

I think that they should be connected a little then they'd be perfect

maybe there could be two different types of "weapons"...

1. single shockwave
PRO: large attack range, effective against units to hit them hard with "one shot"
CONTRA: have to charge before shoot...? long reacharge time...
effect: starts small as wave (?) and than grow...

2. ultra sonic beam
PRO: hit a lot of targets in line (to attack a base or much infantery)
CONTRA: medium attack range, weaker as the "single shot"
effekt: transparent beam

i think thats a good idea too however have the beams a bit brighter on the blue and have a sort of 'rail gun FX' around the outside as a sort of confinement beam thingy otherwise looks epic

Typically shock waves expand as they propagate from their source. Even light does this. So yes I think it should widen out as it leaves the projector. An interesting question is, can you make it so that it loses effectiveness at maximum range?

I don't know how to code either of them, although I would love such an effect. But the disruptor fires a beam of high-energy soundwaves, which is in fact possible, much like a laser, not just sound in the general direction of the target.

I think the shockwaves should be closer together, and while having it expand a lot might be cool, I think this one's beam should be big to small. Maybe you could make another unit (maybe an air unit or infantry) that creates a huge disruption field in front of it that expands.
But, otherwise, awesome!
