I'm curious, what is the point and purpose of quad treads?

If we take a look at the Halo UNSC Scorpion tank, the advantage would be that it can maneuver better.

What bonuses exactly would digging in provide?

stronger armor, more accurate fire. That is what I think since, it is buried in the ground, the vehicle isn't that exposed to direct fire, and since the recoil would be reduced the accuracy would be improved. If we talk about real life advantage.

Gives a massive bonus to front and side armor, and a slight penalty to rear armor. Also gives it increased range (currently about 25% bonus).

I'm pretty sure that in real life, if you have tanks, and you need to secure a position with them, you kind of dig out a parking spot for them so that only their turret can be seen, but they can still back out fairly quickly. I never really liked the tick tank because of how it stuck out of the ground, but the concept behind it is pretty sound.

I like that concept, its like having the tank dig its own trench in seconds, wich would be a boos for a militant/terrorist/mercenary army fighting a super-super power like the GDI. They could just change lines multiples times per day, wich would confuse a lot of generals and commanders.

Mm, as useful as it can be, I much prefer mobility in nearly every situation. That could just be personal style though.

The tick tank's range bonus when dug in makes it perfect for ambushes, or defensive positions. It outranges Titans and Mammoth Tanks btw.

That is actually very Nodlike Sarge_Rho.

Can I ask something of you though? Its just that I really liked the Tib Dawn Nod grey theme better than the black and red the Brotherhood got since Tib Sun. Could you make a few vehicles in that ligh grey colour, or have vehicle variants that way, like the GLA technical? I understand if not, but I just had to ask.

I prefer the black and red color style over the gray they had in TD. It fits Nod's ominous religious style much better.

I know one of the Scandinavian countries actually built a tank that does that and it was to make it a smaller target and also it means that they can put less armour on the sides making the tank lighter
